Inside. I usually find about 1 a year indoors. Last year the cat was playing with one-having a great time! I think it came in via the A/C duct. I replaced the air-handler filter earlier today and the filter was partly dislodged from the plenum; I suspect a slammed door blew it out.

I HATE those things! I can't think of any other critter that looks as bad-ass as it really is. Just the looks alone throws me into a panic and makes me want to run for the sledge hammer and a can of Raid.

Ouch! Those can be nasty stings depending on the type. I found that once we kept the crickets, roaches and grasshoppers down, they wandered elsewhere to look for dinner. Do your best to rid yourself of their favorite food and they'll leave you alone.

scorpion alert.
Reminds me of the time I was working nights as a maint. tech at a local hospital and we were told to be on the watch for iddt-bitty scorpions entering the doors. Our doors were at floor level and at night they would enter.
Mostly scaring patients.
The were in a migration from bare desert area on one side of the building. I saw one but it knew the score and quickly vanished into a crack at a wall area.

I just peed a little ... I hate spiders of any kind. The Pacific Northwest has it's own nastie's. Hobo spiders ... eee gads. You don't want to tangle with one of those rotten arachnid SOB's; and for God's sake don't Google what a bite looks like. Everytime I stack firewood I expect to get bit, so far so good.
