FWIW, for those so inclined, today is "National Cheeseburger day" (Fri. 10/18/26).
And that`s my selected dinner theme for tonight, all homemade of course, with Cape Cod brand recently offered pretty tasty potato 40% less fat chips on the side.
Lettuce (Romaine) Tillamook Cheddar cheese, onion, tomato, & of course, bacon fixings.
~ 1/2~ 1/3rd lb. precooked weight patty of fresh market purchased fresh ground chuck, minus the usually added pink slime coloring.
Yes !!! Looking forward to dinner tonight`s selectively rare for me, red meat consumption fare.

That`s what I get for deciding to post advisement suggestion that after closing out my use of A/K earlier and then remembering it`s Nat. CB Day while I moved on to YT videos, and failing to proof read my quick return to A/K to post the advisement of the Nat. CB dinner theme date !

BTW, my last nights countertop electric griddle cooked CB theme dinner was perfectly executed by my long suffering Housekeeper/Caregiver across the board, and one of the best CB experiences I`ve encountered in decades.

Well I`ll admit, I never looked it up on line, but have always trusted my Housekeeper/Caregiver`s ongoing knowledge about such things for over a decade or so, and I called my childhood friend yesterday to see how he and his family were doing, and brought up NCB Day, and he also confirmed the 9/18 date that he and his wife partook the consumption of said theme based meal in celebration, and they don`t usually eat hamburgers of any style.Not to keep bustin' your chops, but National CB Day is 10/4, good buddy!
FWIW, I have come to understand that there are various sources claiming various days on the internet for various food theme based celebration days for all types of food.
So, who`s to say what source is claimed to be truly pre-internet "official" these days concerning such things !

FWIW, usedto, I curiously decided to do an internet search for the popularly accepted & recognized NCBD date, and what do you know, most, if not all the national burger chains claim to recognize/celebrate Fri. 09/18/26 as National Cheeseburger Day and as a consideration to this celebration, all offered various Cheeseburger meal discount specials on that calendar date, so this info. would seem to contradict your corrective official 10/4/26 date, Sir.
Pork Loin - my wife bought a whole loin and had to try it as steaks. Dry brined for 8 hours - very good flavor, but not super tender (as expected) because it’s so lean.
Pork shoulder cuts, on the other hand, make excellent steaks when done properly. Pork is practically free - the whole loin was only $15 - only used about a third of it to make these 4 steaks.

Any day is a good day to fall or climb down off of the wagon for a fresh ground chuck cheeseburger. I myself prefer the fresh ground chuck/brisket blend from Sprouts. My daughter’s boyfriend’s family likes American Wagu. Any excuse is AOK with me @Bill Ferris.
Singing the praises of the 52 year old Farberware steamer/double boiler/sauce pan. Yup it’s from the ubiquitous wedding gift set at Fedco no doubt - the sole survivor. Besides several metric tons of al dente veggies, it can do perfect hands-off oatmeal and perfectly steamed “hardboiled” eggs simultaneously in 15 minutes. The leftover boiling water cleans the oatmeal off the pot before the pat of butter melts.
Enchiladas de carnitas. Will make carne asada, ground beef & shredded chicken enchiladas, as well. Not sure which we prefer as all are excellent.
