That rear port on the box takes up quite a bit of space due to the folded horn structure.

The baffle comes off by removing a number of screws. Very easy.

Just google "EV Aristicrat" and you should be able to find a link that you can read. It is a very simple, one fold, folded horn that uses the corner wall to continue the horn mouth.

Higher efficiency?! Good thing ive got higher eficiency speakers( my kids dont mind them at all) two pairs of vegas, though barely used. I fear getting evicted because of them. And besides tmine are efficient enough for me. Using a sub with it of course...looking into the aristocrat cabs in a few minutes....I kinda NEED HORNS OR BIGGER CABS FOR MY MONITOR GOLD 12S.(oops forgot cap lock)

I was surprised to see that the 3638 driver is 99db eff. I'd of thought it would only be in the low 90s.

Did you go from the Gold to the Edgar/Frazier? I have been looking for that bass cab around here for a couple years. Seems like a great match with any good horn that can go low.

This was the first time I heard any Tannoy, except maybe in passing. I am very impressed and, I think, the 12" would be even a better match for the Crat cab.

Did you go from the Gold to the Edgar/Frazier?

I did. If I ever come into a pair of Gold 15s sometime I want to try them, as I think they'd have higher eff. than the 12s that I had. They're glorious sounding speakers, and my only beef with them was that they needed just a little more juice than my beloved triode amps could give them at the time. I think Bill's idea to drive these 15s with 2A3s is perfect.

Agreed. The only amp I have left is an Adcom 30wpc SS and they speakers sounded great with that. I'd really like to get over to Bill's and hear them with the 2A3.

I've put these drivers on the top of my list but I know it will be a while before they cross my path....unles I want to eBay them from England.
