I think thats the awards show I was thinking of while reading this thread. She came out and I was very un-impressed with all the hype she has. Then Martina McBride came out and the talent difference was laughable...of course Martina can make a lot of people sound (and look) bad.

Very much my reaction to that performance. And..........It was a country awards show - she does not do country. I don't care who says she is a country performer, she's not.

That's my rant.

It's always interesting to me how sometimes artists sound horrible on television broadcasts...makes me wonder if the live audience is subjected to the same nail\chaulkboard screeching performance I'm cringing to.

I enjoyed her first CD but haven't heard her sophmore effort yet. Anyone listen to it and have an opinion?

The new cd is decent , i still like the 1st one a lot more so far .

I do agree to a certain point her singing needs improving , but she's young & can grow into this & get better each year , thing that amazes me is she writes most of her own songs all by Herself & has been for many years , American idol people from what i have seen none of them write , that's where you need to be strong .

Gentlemen, I said she was easy on the eyes, NOT that I was head over heels in lust, or she had a great ass, or great tits, or anything else. Ya'all need to be able to draw a distinction between something that is pleasant to look at, and something that you wish you could f*ck.

We've been down this road before when speaking of young women in the public eye. The world is full of pretty things and IMO you're foolish if you fail to appreciate and enjoy them, but not not all of them are related to the act of sex (although, when you're 24, I suppose that might be a tough sell).

Her singing was 'wierd' on SNL. Not 'bad', per se, but not my cup 'O tea. But apparently she has found an appreciative audience nonetheless. Only true talent has staying power, so time will tell.

Shes had a publishing deal with Sony/ATV since she was 14,and has written hundreds of songs already.If the matinee idol thing dries up,shell still have her songwriting to fall back on.Remember back when Dolly Parton was still with Porter Wagoner?They used to say she was just a pretty girl with big tits.That was 40 years ago.

so far she's still doing good , #1 albums past 6 weeks , the tell-tale will be jer 3rd album , that always seems to be make it or break it time

Personally, I think she's a cute kid. I was really messing with Toze, knowing his affinity for redheads and strawberry blondes.
