Technics 1200?

Allegedly, this a "Technics 1200" turntable, but it doesn't look like a SL-1200 to me. It's got a straight arm. Does anyone know what this table really is?

I'm going through all the photos on vinylengine. It looks an awful lot like a SL-Q200. Is it worth an hour drive to take a look at it?

I agree, it appears to be a SL-Q200. If it is in good condition and the seller isn't asking much for it, I might drive an hour for it.

It is not in the same league as a 1200, it's lightweight, but it is a quartz direct drive unit that's capable of very good performance. Of course, it uses a P-mount cartridge and has RCA phono jacks on the back panel so cable replacement is easy.

I depends on the price, but an hour away for a turntable that sold for only $140 new would make me pass. There are better out there.

Ditto. More than likely the seller mistyped the Q as a 1. You're posting something publicly--wouldn't you think to check to make sure it's written correctly? What would it take--5 seconds? This kind of stuff just boggles my mind.

I would not drive an hour for it either. They were nice tables but not great tables. Unless it was cheap, then I might consider it. Guess that was not very helpful
