The '80s Playlist

80's hits

I spent most of the 80's in Germany and the far east, so I missed out on a lot of the one hit wonders that were popular in the U.S., so my 80's list is composed of older European bands that were still popular, and a few American staples:

Pink Floyd - Delicate Sound of Thunder (no one can play guitar like David Gilmore)
U2 - Joshua Tree
Genesis - Invisable touch
Scorpions - Animal Magnetism
Police/Sting- (just saw them last night in Phoenix, and they were a blast!!)
Springsteen - Born in the USA, Tunnel of Love (I loved his 3+hour jam packed stadium shows!)
Mellencamp - Scarecrow, Lonesome Jubilee(his best album ever)
ZZ Top- Eliminator--(Admit it ,you still love those videos!)

Flowers - Icehouse, '80
Men at Work - Business as Usual, '82
Depeche Mode - Some Great Reward, '84
The Cure - Head on the Door, '85
The The - Infected '86

Hmm... actually there's heaps I could add from my collection. I'm a product of the 80's. :smoke:

Excellent choice with Depeche Mode's - Some Great Reward. I must have worn out three of four copies of that in the day.

it's interesting to see what different folks think of when they think '80s'-- for me, its Human League, Depeche Mode, New Order, Echo & the Bunnymen, Smiths, Cure, Bauhaus, Peter Murphy, Berlin, Laurie Anderson (Big Science), Yaz, This Mortal Coil, Dead Can Dance, Clan of Zymox, Danielle Dax (Inky Bloaters), Love and Rockets, The Buggles, Gary Numan

Yup... lots of good music. Some were over shawdowed by New Wave and Punk.
