Thorens owners group

That looks awesome!

What tonearm is that?
Thanks for the kind words everyone, and it's an Opera T1288 arm. (unipivot, carbon fibre, 12") I am going to be changing it to a Grace G-840F Black this week. I think this Grace arm will work better with the table, at least I hope so.

This thread inspired me dig out the Thorens TD-160 that I scored from a CL ad while I was still living in Denver for $45. And I have to say, it beats the hell out of the $9.99 thrift store Pioneer PL-530 that I had been listening to! Here's the thread from when I originally found it:

Is this the line for the Thorens group? :D

I'll take some better pics when I get it rotated into to the main system!

Very pleased I asked for this group to be created. Will be posting up some pics of my two systems soon. Keep the postings coming folks so we can justify its existence

Right, back to polishing my platter and dust cover. The plinth has had 5 base coats so far ready for a couple of oats of Japlack high gloss black. I,m getting quite OCD about my shiny platter here !

Cheers

That's a great setup you have there!:thmbsp: Nice and organized. I like the way you have your 45rpm records right under the turntables. Also, love your tubed stuff!:music: Thorens Rule!

I bought my Thorens TD-160 for $12! Had the original Thorens TP-16 arm on it. It's been tweaked like it says on The Analog Dept.:music:

I'm in...

I know... the "extra weight" on the headshell has been replaced by "under" the headshell lead weights...

That is a VERY nice 124. Love the armboard.

I too added some weight onto my SME. Took a piece of super soft sorbothane and stuck one of those technics 4g headshell weights on top. That and a quarter stuck to the back of my counterweight using some heavy duty double sided tape. Works great.
