Tube Socket is Wrong!

Hi, everyone, just got my tubes from tubedepot and for the 6C41C I didn't get the right sockets! What to do? Im thinking of just laying the tube flate on the pcb!

PS. This bulb is huge!

Buy the proper sockets, or use a tube that is more appropriate. For that amp you're building, theres no need for such a massive tube.
 
The socket is right the tube is wrong. Your schematic shows a 6C4 and you ordered a 6C41C. The 6C4 is a 7 pin miniature tube, the 6C41C is a Russian tube with a special socket and it's a power tube. It's more suited for output than driving.
The 6C41C is not what you want for your circuit. You should buy the correct tube (a 6C4) if you want to build what's on your schematic.
This may be the first of series of issues related to not getting the basic electronics knowledge that has been suggested to you several times.

I guess, but honestly I though it was the same tube..lol! Oh well, im gonna have to work with what I got. So technically I cant still plug this to my schematic?
 
No, you can't use this tube in your schematic for several reasons. The heater current draw is much higher, the operating current is higher, it doesn't have the required mu. Oh, another thing, IT'S POWER TUBE. It's not the correct tube for your application and they're not interchangeable.
Spring for the extra $4 and get the right one. Keep the 6C41C for your next project and ask more questions about it at that time.

Use the linked tube, build the amp as per the schematic and think of it as a learning experience. You won't be out a lot of cash and you can probably use the parts elsewhere in six months.

Im not concerned about performance, I just want a good basic, good sounding amp! Ya I think those tubes are wrong! I see 9 pins!

I bought the 6C41C! I think the 6C45Pi is a 9 pin mini. I think the right tube is this one:

They haven't made those tubes for many years. There is, however, a large amount of them available. Try and guess why.
 
FWIW, the 6C4 is just like one section of a 12AU7. If you're building a pair of amps, for stereo, you could mount a 9 pin socket between the two amp boards and run shielded wires to the corresponding triodes in the 12AU7. This only would make sense to do if you have some 9 pin sockets and some 12AU7s laying around, and if you mount the pair of amp boards side to side on a chassis.
 
Except for the heater current.
Also, realize that if you make a suggestion for a different tube, you will be responsible for answering all questions regarding it's application and designing a new circuit for him:)
 
Wow, and the reason why I chose this amp is because its simple, and im sure it will sound good since it just has to amplify the sound! Thanks for the link, just ordered the right tube, pretty cool that there not expensive!
 
I remember being told to build a simple single ended amp for my first project. I kept thinking if these people call this simple, I'm screwed. The second one is a lot easier, there's a huge curve on your first one.
