What Audio Brand That You Will Never Buy And Why?

I like to think that AK is a Forum that no matter what gear you have it is a matter of what you can afford and like!! And Hell yes I have Owned some Shitty equipment over the years and in my shop I listen to a Dewalt Radio so now it's a screw dewalt thread!

I love the new Dewalt power tools, they screw good.

I'd avoid the old warhorses that have been through the corporate flea markets. Stuff like NEW AR, KLH, Sansui, and Akai and even Dual which now shows up on crappy Asian car stereos.

Really I don't know how anyone could take this very personally, I mean when Mcintosh and Sony are on a list named crap, then really anything can be included on the list. And I don't think Mr. Pigs post included Mcintosh as crap, more likely a cost verse performance issue.

Any audio equipment that's recommended here with the follow up.
"It's a grate bang for the buck"

So, no MC-2100 for you!
Ok, that would be down grading for me anyway, LOL

I did buy a really cool MC2300 though, Papa John Creach's amp. It was used all through the time with Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna and the Papa John Creach Band.

Did you ever see that thread Steve?

Yes, I did. Interesting!
I know the 2100 is beneath your requirements, but, as the 'big bang for buck' Mac autoformer amp, I couldn't resist.

When did you get that one? I thought you have been holding off on a mac power amp (undecided)

Don't have one tho have an offer out to a guy in B'ham for a while. Listening to a Steve Hoffman reissue of the Andrews Sisters thru an Iverson Eagle 2 right now. You got some of this years' mad money, Grump got more of it. Mebbe next year.

LOL I had to tap-out, kinda heading into broke's ville the end of this year, lately I have more stuff than money.

I probably won't be buying any more Audio Research, Levinson, Proceed (et al type of) stuff. While it's very nice, sounds great, built like a brick shithouse and all that, I don't think it's worth it.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm the type of guy that would try even the crappiest crap just for the fun of it. I'd even give Soundesign a chance if the price was right (read "Free").
