Never heard the ortofon one but the AT is a decent one, nothing spectacular. What is your budget because I would suggest a RedEd.

The 1219 seems to be a mid-low mass tonearm...

Both of these cartridges would work fine.

The Omega is a little more interesting as it is in fact an OM body with an economy stylus on it.

You can upgrade the stylus with an OM20/30/40 - serious top flight performance starts with the OM30 around $200. The OM20 is very good midrange performance.

Or you can fit a Digitrac SE stylus (same as the OM30 made by ortofon for Digitrac) - for only $80 one of the great bargains! http://www.turntableneedles.com/Digitrac-Needle-SE_p_727.html
(Note - to fit it onto an OM you need to clip off the tiny tab at the back of the cartridge...)

I run an OM-DigitracSE - and it sounds great!

My budget is a funny story. I would be willing to pay about $50 for one, but I also have a $25 visa gift card, so around $75.

No lack of options

but I would if possible stretch the budget to a Line Contact / Hyper Eliptical / Shibata stylus.... or at least choose a cartridge where I can later upgrade the stylus to one of these.

The different manufacturers tend towards a different "house sound" - all the above are well respected cartridges.

If I was choosing for myself (and had to limit myself to a single one) I would probably go for the M97xE.... a good eliptical cartridge, and that damping brush can help with a LOT of setup issues.... makes life easier.
And then save up for the SAS stylus....

I have a Dual 1009 and when I bought it, the seller had put the audio technica cartridge you listed. Although its a good basic cart and extremely affordable, the sound leaves much to be desired. Eventually I just swapped it out with the cart on my old turntable, a shure premier. But in your case, I would go with what others have said above, the Audio technica AT95E. Great cartridge for the money and it will pair nicely with your dual.

It has a Realistic R1000 EDT. I've had some sound problems, and I've narrowed it down to either the cartridge or the needle. The needle slides out very easily, sometimes while listening to a record. So, I figured on getting a new cartridge to fix the problem.

The R1000EDT is a nice cartridge, M75 variant, post some pictures of it, maybe all you need is a new stylus.

A bit blurry, you could essentially buy a cheap replacement stylus to see if that will fix the problem. But, if you are truly unsure, like many have stated before there are tons of choices.

Nope - has not been made since the 80's I believe - that brand tanked...

All the digitrac stuff now is NOS that was not originally sold due to the failure of the company.

Yep - check it is all fine - make sure it is all properly aligned, and then look into a better stylus!

You can get a HyperEliptical or even a SAS stylus for that cartridge....
