Who's listening to FM Tonight? What tuner?

Sansui 3000a...tuner is impressive

Even though it's a receiver, I'm amazed at how well the Sansui 3000a brings in stations. I live in Dexter, just west of Ann Arbor and pick up East Lansing, Jackson, Flint and Toledo FM staions clear as a bell with only a 3' wire attached to it. Got 94.9 East Lansing playing now.:music:

The tuner is pretty much central to a good receiver the way I see it. Sony seems to get it right from what I've heard. Sounds like you are in a good reception area. Try a rooftop antenna and see what happens!

Sorry for the off topic post but this will bring it back on topic.

I do hope you know that I was just ribbing you a little!
Did you get the belt you were waiting for?

I knew but I'm a grumpy old fart!
Yes got the belt and now I think i need to reset the geomerty again as I hadn't used the TT for 7 years. Still sounds great.

Oh and I love WFMT. Stream it often. I used to listen all the time when I lived in Chicago, Ray and Norm on the Midnight Special, Claudia Cassidy and William Russo on Critics Corner, and Studs at 10 AM weekday mornings. I used to buy the program guide at Krocks on Wabash and eat at either The Berghoff or Elfmans.

When they stopped streaming during the tech bust I was a sad panda bear. Happy they are back only wish they had a higher stream rate.

I remember laying in bed with a transistor radio under my pillow and listening to stations from all over on the skip. I won't say they were good days, but they were different.

I'm listening to CBC 1, the Vinyl Tap, on a Marantz 2270 and some Mission 70 speakers, all at floor level. Great comb. Good tunes.

The little Sony: Charles Lloyd New Quartet: Live from Lincoln Center. Roger Reuben, Jason Moran, Eric Harlan and special artist Alicia Moran. WBGO FM88.3mhz NY/NJ area.

My "new" Sansui AU-999, Tu-777 combo. WXPR. So far, so sweet.:music:

It is pulling in fringe stations at 5 on the 1 to 5 tuning scale. I am impressed.

Echoes on my "new" Sony ST-J75 soon to be tuned and upgraded by Punker X.
WXXI 91.5 Rochester. I love this station. The Sony sounds great it's the best synthesized tuner I have heard. The T-80 is jealous.

Did you get that on the bay recently? I saw that tuner and thought about it. How does it sound?

Listening to 98.1 KING-FM doing a live broadcast of Seattle Ballet's Prokofiev on my Onkyo T-9090II.

Wow, glad to see KING-FM is still a classical station. I see it's transitioning from commercial to listener-supported. Amazing that it lasted so long as a commercial Classical station in today's world.

Still on KZOK 102.5, but back on the Fisher KM-60 tuner. It doesn't match the Marantz very well cosmetically, but they sound great together. They just played Pink Floyd's "Dogs Of War". :music:
