Who's listening to FM Tonight? What tuner?

Listening to the local classical/jazz station, now in jazz mode, on yesterday's $15 GW find, a Sony STR-6055. Very good tuner in this, zero interference noise of any kind!

Listening to the wonderful Bob Parlocha show on the sinking rudderless KKJZ FM Los Angeles on a lovely sounding Yamaha T-85.

fyi - open letter to kkjz from Bobby Matos

and also a good article on KKJZ in the Jazz Messenger (free Jazz paper in LA)

Thank you very much for the link 59volvo!
In the past six moths I've fired off at least six emails to KKJZ voicing my shock and dismay that a Jazz station could sink as low as KKJZ did.
I can only take so much of the fifties and early sixties New York pop songs Frank and crew sang, not to mention all the contemporary quasi-jazz pop songs being spewed on the once great jazz station.
And, Thank You, Bobby Matos:thmbsp:atos

FYI - a really good jazz show called RISE is on KPFK Sunday nights - monday morning problem is its on from midnight to 3am. they do have archives on their site or tape an air check and listen to when convenient. also the Jazz Kolective on KFJC.org friday's 10am-2pm is also a good show

I'm sometimes listening to fm on my technics st-9600, whenever that special mood shows up.

Great sounding tuner! and one of my favourites. I had the chance to listen to, and analyse many tuners in the past... And I just couldn't find another one to give that feeling! I can't describe it; I just adore it :D

Yes sir.
After listening to Spaceways radio program on KPFK many a time I've awakened to the 10 minute opening intro to the RISE program, and quite a few times two hours well into the program. I wish it were aired earlier and more often.

At the time of this posting, I'm disappointed Friday nights on KKJZ two hours are dedicated to freak KennyG and his lame offerings.:thumbsdn:

The little Sony, through a Dynaco SCA-80Q that I'm bringing back to life, in the garage. Driving a pair of Boston A-60's.

Listening to KPLU Jazz on my Fisher 800C driving my Beyerdynamic DT880/600 through the speaker outputs.

Tandberg TR-2030 Receiver

A guy told me Tandbergs had excellent tuners, and he was right! Listening to a jazz show in Santa Fe, NM on the local public station, KSFR 101.1, through some late 80s B&W DM330i speakers, and the sound is fantastic with just a cheap indoor dipole antenna, and a plethora of interference inducing electronics all over the place!

I'm listening to my Tivoli Model One, and monitoring the output on the Mac MPI-4 I just bought. Unfortunately, the Tivoli doesn't have scope outputs, so I can only monitor the audio out.

The MPI-4 will be going into the big Mac system with the MR-78 tuner, but for now I like the idea of using it with a radio which is 1/10th the size, weight and cost. At least they both have walnut cabinets!

Having fun comparing the Marantz ST-6000 with the Sherwood S3000-V. KJZZ in Phoenix for classic jazz and KBAQ for classical, both Public Radio.

Man, KKJZ FM Los Angeles was simply horrible today on my Yamaha T-85.
I mean the playlist was ugly not the tuner:sigh:
