Album was recorded in '69 but never released until this year (2021)! Bobbie's best album by far! Jazz Folk Beautiful sound quality with Bobbie's intimate vocals. Superb!

Story goes, she was dating the producer who was married at the time. Relationship went sour so no album release.

Yes, definitely give it a listen! "Spooky" & "This Girl's In Love With You" are my two favorite tracks on Side 2. Whole album is on Youtube. Never get tired of listening to it! Excellent!

Valerie June "Moon and Stars"



Her debut was produced by Dan Auerbach and her first couple of albums are good but seemed to me to over emphasize her unique vocal style. This one is more sophisticated and mature. The vocals are unequivocally hers, but the production and arrangement on this is spacious, rich, and lush.

On the legacy front, I submit that "Listen to the River" (Grateful Dead, St Louis, 1970-1971-1972) is BETTER than Europe '72.

There, I said it. Fight me!



There were some great releases this year. Will be watching for other recommendations!

Nope - going with an oddball. James McMurtry - The Horses And The Hounds. Maybe because he's singing about people my age getting through life? I keep losing my glasses...

I need to visit the Valerie June record. We saw her a couple years ago, she's super talented and I like how wide a range her influences are.
The Tibetan Miracle Seeds debut "Inca Missiles" was really good IMO. They're really a one-man band, Jack McAfee wrote, played and sings everything.

I've checked out probably 20 or so 2021 releases from the library but I think the only two that I bought that were 2021 releases were Julian Lage - Squint and John Zorn - New Masada Quartet, also featuring Julian Lage and I prefer the later.

I'm in the same boat, I'm always searching for albums that either update or clean up / remaster the original or add other additional reason to buy a new copy of an old album I love.
Thd MoFi Aqualung was an out of the park home run , as was The MoFi ABB Brothers and Sisters.

Several remasters & deluxe reissues of older material were rife as bands weren't doin' much else.
