All Time Greatest Motorcycle

The Hayabusa is a fast bike, but it has *nothing* on a Vincent Black Lightning, simply the coolest & fastest thing ever on two wheels!

Paul, she was a 2-stroke 750cc triple from Kawasaki, made in 1972. :yikes:

Had one of these 1972 h2e 750.
1/4 mile in 11.2 sec 126mph top speed.
By today's standards not all that impressive.
in it's day not much could catch it.
I remember blowing off a honda cb1000 with it.
Ahh those were the days.
Also had a 400 triple was the best running bike i ever had.

I guess I'm just a fan of durability?
My pa was a diesel mechanic for over 35 years and I can see the difference
in quality between a diesel and a gas vehicle. That's why commercial
trucks like Mack, Peterbuilt and FruitLiner are all diesel, as are all
cargo ships and oil tankers. I'm sure they'd put a nuke on them if
it was allowed but I'll take a diesel any day over a gas engine.
I think that this thread can't have the lights put out without
these links being enjoyed. These are to me some of the finest
motorcycles ever produced:banana:

Wow! Diesel bikes. I had no clue. I'm gonna look into those. Thanks for the links.

What can I say? I've always loved crappy 70s, frankensteined Jap motorcycles--from CBs to KZs to GSes to FZs. Parts are (or were) abundant, cheap and interchangeable. And these bikes are always FUN. Ride with impunity, there's always another. However. . .

My Top Three (okay Four)
1) Vincent Black Shadows and Black Lightnings! Nothing more to say that hasn't been said.
2) Moto Guzzi 850 Lemans: Sexy, brutal, and cool, you know which years I'm talking about.
3) 1974-1979 Ducati 900SS: Good god!

Although I love modern brakes and suspension, I dig the classics.:thmbsp:
