What's up with Rowan?

There was a brown stripey guy that had been hanging around asking for eats. Not too close because the resident bunch didn't like his company. I hadn't seen him for a few days so I walked around a bit and saw him hanging with the kitties in the next block up where they hang in the alley away from street traffic. The seem to have welcomed a newcomer. One or two people up there feed them so I guess Gus (my name for him) will get by.

Cloudflare BS

Most other great audio forums have not sold out to that BS…
And I have even spent monies to support this forum!

So Sad .. Rowan bites, drawing blood .. for this.

Spare explanations, we gone.

@ARC Tech-109 Is correct ..

Cloudflare BS makes me leave!

Rowan is the best cat ever, she would Bite with vengeance for the BS Cloudflare purports.

Outta here..

Cloudflare BS makes me leave!
in this day of little teenage mutant hackers and data hungry AI bots I reluctantly understand the reason for CloudFlare however sometimes it's a bit aggressive which gets frustrating. I'm going to wait and see how things play out before making any decision of future support. I have been a member for over 20 years now so I don't want to make any sudden moves, the split years back really turned me off but honestly it allowed the original audiokarma to become what it is today. Videokarma has become a ghost of what it was as it has not updated any of the hosting or related software and honestly I don't see it lasting much longer in its present state, if they're not willing to update then I see no reason to further support.

What it comes down to is overall quality and right now audiokarma has that in its favor despite the CloudFarts, as long as the site continues to operate I'm going to continue support considerations.

Sorry for the poor attitudes toward other members…
But for me Cloudflare is unacceptable, they have their paws into everything these days with little proof of value.

Promised a pic of the Latest stones LP…

First listening, impressive double LP, Nice quality, plays

Rowan says thanks for all the love, my best to the folks who thought of us….

Whoever thinks a cat doesn't have a good long term memory may want to reconsider this.

Today I met the person who saved Fatso's life by intervening and stopping the neighbor from shooting him. She brought over some kittens a someone keeps dropping on her and was talking about some of the past rescues and mentioned "The Butler" which happened to be her name for Fatso so I went and scooped him off the chair and brought him out. A little apprehensive at first but after a few sniffs things came back and he did a little dance that I had never seen before but was an everyday thing for them. He remembered her alright and I could see just how happy he was, that tail was straight up and he was marking her good.

So I was deeply moved by the story of how he came to be, hard to hear at first and glad the neighbor didn't follow through. Fatso has become the boss of the house even more so than Mattie and he always has an opinion. His future at first was to be a "garage cat" for a small service garage but being timid around loud noises and a heart murmur quenched that idea he was destined for a long life in the cat room. I had just lost my big-fat-Buddy-Cat that early October but honestly wasn't ready to move on... he had other plans for me.

Passing down Buddy's food bowl.

Every night I'd feed the cats in the cat room he would jet out the door and make his way towards my apartment in the back of the building, I'd catch him and back to the cat room we went but decided to see how he would react to Mattie and started to feed them together, first few nights were chaos and he wasn't so sure about the accommodations but eventually claimed the middle of the futon as his and made himself at home. That was almost three years ago now. Mattie was a little slow at first but after staking his place in the house and making it clear he wasn't going anywhere Fatso was finally home.

After Buddy-Cat passed things got a little difficult for me and I started thinking about some of my old friends like the Christian Brothers, Jack Daniels and his best friends Johnny Walker and Jim Beam. I was devastated. He wasn't just a cat he was my best bud. Always at the door waiting to greet me as I walked in. He would snuggle into bed and sometimes not move, I worked nights as a process tech at a plastics plant and it was rough gig but he always made my day and I loved him with all my heart. A work related injury and screwed out of my workman's comp things got even tighter but he was always there ready to do his cat-scan of my day and make it all worth while. The following summer was difficult making the ends meet but I had a Mattie-Cat and a Buddy-Cat in the house and made things work, they depended on me and I wasn't going to let them down. That first week of October he really wasn't himself and went downhill starting that Friday evening, we had a vet appointment scheduled for that Monday but he didn't want to wait and went 10-7 on 10/7, in the 2-way radio world 10-7 or signal-seven means out of service. I really miss my friend.

The following February Fatso came into my life because it was meant to be and he has no plans of leaving any time soon.

His arrival day.

OK, I'm back at work.

Still getting a "forbidden" page when trying to access AK at home.
ONCE, I was presented a captcha "check box" screen, which failed.
Two other sites I belong to, using the same software presented the same check box screen and passed.

Oh, well.

Last week we adopted out Josie.
Bittersweet as always.
She has been the "most normal" cat we've ever had.

Josie and Rolls about a month ago-

Regarding Rolls, he has spent the last month 80% inside and 20% outside versus the other way around. In fact, I said yesterday he is almost fully assimilated.
We could tell he was trying, by not responding when approached in a threatening manner, after about 2 weeks of "oh, yeah?, well take that". He's also been finding somewhat out of the main area places, where he won't be potentially in the path of aggressors. I think he's got it figured out as the conflicts have greatly diminished.

In other cat news, I had time to work some on the catio project.
Decided to cut down the cat area to about a 12x12 area, rather than half the screen porch.
That will require fabricating a tunnel with a 90 degree turn, from the window to the catio area.

Also started filling in the angle of the top of the roof with the wire mesh.
After I get a good mock up of the tunnel, I'll se about configuring the additional interior wall and setting the bolts for that.
