I'm probably a bit late to the party, but I spent the first quarter of this year scouring the internet for a Marantz TT15S1, and being in the U.K. it wasn't easy. Then one day I persevered and found the details of one ex-dem for sale on the eighth google search page of that day. As this was a Sunday I couldn't wait until the next day to call the store, thinking the ad would be obsolete. I rang and it was available and intact, but the box was very tatty, I said I didn't care! - very good price too - £700. It turns out it was one of half a dozen used for display only at a presentation in London by Ken Ishitawa.
Anyway since I got it I've spent a fortune on used vinyl.

I like the cleaning fluid. I got one recently just to keep my cart in tip top condition and it is very easy to use and cleans up the whole cartridge as well as the stylus.
Here's some pics of my Clearaudio TT, which I bought, during the summer.
I also took the opportunity to buy a new stand (Alphason Soundstyle ST 105 in Silver with platinum shelves). here it is during the remodelling
I had a few problems with the set up, mainly due to not having enough bass
as I set the arm up parallel when I should have set up tail down, but once that was corrected, it sounded wonderful.
here's the tail down drop of a couple of millimetres needed, shown by the gold sticker around the support column, once this was corrected it bloomed.

Thank you so much. I think the components are very modest by today's standards, but it still sounds and looks nice. I have Monitor Audio GS10 speakers which are a little on the bright side, so the tail down VTA worked nicely as it reduced the treble and increased the bass sufficiently enough to give it a really nice balanced sound.
It went from..."hhmm, ok" to "WOW, that's more like it".:thmbsp:

That must be a requirement for the particular cartridge he has. The Denon cartridge, like most, is supposed to be aligned normally(arm parallel to platter).

Beautiful table, that would have been my first choice if I could have got a bargain, but I couldn't and it wasn't for the lack of trying (I even spoke with Chevvies [post#83, in this very thread] and tried to get one of the Demo versions from the Ken Ishiwata seminar, but all gone).
The tail down tip came from another forum and was suggested by a Clearaudio dealer. I suspect it relates only to the C/A carts/arm combo. (but whenever I see published tests, there is always a comment about the bass lacking on the C/A model..so who knows.) Another tip was to track the cart on the heavy side with VTF. 2.28g for the Maestro.

Guiller, that's an awesome piece of wood your TT is sitting on. Is it the top shelf of your rack, or did you buy it yourself? Which wood is it?

Thanks! It´s a simple DIY box filled with sand along the lines of http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/sandblaster_e.html . The wood choice is up to you. I´ve chosen a type of wood locally called Haya that looks similar to maple.
A relatively new owner of a Marantz 15S1. Bought it off CL for $670 (shipped) without the cart. Currently has the DL-160 on it and sounds fantastic.
Not aware of the 'tail-dip' technique for the tonearm that was mentioned on this page, must read more.
I find that mine sounds better with the record clamped directly to the acrylic platter, for what it's worth. Not sure if you've tried that but if not, it's worth a shot. Solidified the bass/soundstage to my ears. I love the versatility of this table, it can sound good with a broader variety of carts than my VPI Classic.
