Just wanted to see if anyone else on AK collects comic books or any pop culture stuff for that matter. Transformers, GI Joes, He-man, you name it, I want to hear about it.

I just saw an ad for Roachmill in one comic I was reading, it looks awesome. Immediately went on my list of stuff to look for at the next con.

I love Miarge TMNT, when I first read it I was suprised that the Turtles I grew up with were actually so badass. did you like the Image stuff?

Still collect:
old Kwakas
stereo gear
die cast Jeeps/Olds

Have a collection of mostly Frazetta, Frank Miller comics, war games, Ral Partha/war game miniatures from my youth.

I'm only missing about 19 Green Lantern issues from 1959-now. I got really lucky in high school and stumbled into a great deal for about 70% of the 60s-70s issues. Since then I've been filling in the gaps.

I used to be an avid, Marvel silver age collector.

I wish, I do try to get good comics in the trade paperbacks, though it's slow. Only really have watchmen :worried:.

As for collections, I collect nearly everything...if it's neat and well priced, I pick it up. Have some old 8 and super8mm projectors and a S.8mm camers. Old 35mm cameras, some old computers...want to pick up a working old nintendo at this point:yes:....Really, I have way to much junk, but it's kind of fun.

I was really into the black and white Eastman and Laird comics. I was horrified when it became cartoony. Mind you I know it spawned commercial success and introduced them to people everywhere but I liked em' grim and gritty.

Hey a Vectrex?

Awesome. I have about 14 vintage gaming consoles.

I grew up collecting Silver Surfer (Ron Lim and Jim Starlin!) and Uncanny X-Men then went off to college and took a long break. About 5 years ago a friend of mine got me back into it (I even geeked out and went to a Comic-con and met Jim Lee, Tony Moore, Jim Starlin, Rob Liefeld, and Michael Turner (RIP)). Currently I only collect The Walking Dead and DMZ.

The first 4 issues of The Walking Dead paid for:

Pioneer SX-838, Pioneer SX-939, Pioneer SX-590, New Large Advents, Klipsch KG4's, Technics SL-1300, Technics SL-1360, and an E-MU 1212M for my computer (oh, and about 50 LPs from ebay).

It pays to be a geek sometimes.

Ditto! Hulk, F. Four, Avengers, Spiderman, Sub-Mariner, Silver Surfer, Thor, Iron-man, etc., etc.

Me too. Had literally thousands stored at the parent's house while in college. Went to their house one day in 1979 and they had dumped them all.

Someone please tell me they were worthless.

Most likely, yes. There are always a few who will pay through the teeth to get what they want but that's not always the case. Unfortunately, you can't put a price on emotional value.

Besides kabuki speakers, I've been collecting die-cast cars and motorcycles for 20 years. Had some comics about 40 years ago but are long gone.

I've only collected one comic book, because i was hoping some day it would be worth a little.. Beavis and Butthead the first issue. Got it the day it hit the shelf.. doubt it's worth much..

Yeah.. I just checked.. near mint (mine was read one time and put in plastic).. $4.00... oh well.. maybe another 20 years from now..
