Favorite Bourbon

Do go try the Bulleit. I killed a bottle last weekend. Damn, that is one fine whiskey. Highly recommend it. Smooth, but not neutered or sweet. If that makes any sense.

As far as Weller, I believe it is the "Old Weller Antique" that I get.

I believe that is the 107 proof? Not bad, try the 12 year also. 90 proof

How odd, in my area the buffaloe trace is under 20, the weller12 is just over!

Like I said, Buffalo Trace Distillery seems to price their various products ALL over the place! I guess they are doing some niche feeling, trying to find the sweet spot.

Now if they'd just put that 12 into a Rebel Yell bottle (more like it USED to be than the watered-down-market stuff it is now), then I'd really be happy.

YEEEEEEE-AAAAAYYYY-HAHHHHHHHHH!!!! :thmbsp:

...and I really do like this stuff... all 144.8 proof.

I wanna see more of that painting. :D

By golly, I think you're right. I didn't know the brand had been sold apart from the Weller's brand (they both still use the same bottle, although that too appears to be changing), but so it has. That helps explain the drop in proof and flavor. :thumbsdn:

The weller antique still uses that bottle, and the older 12 year, the newer 12 year is in a little "pot bellied" bottle, still no cork, however.

Old Rip VanWinkle Handmade Bourbon 107* 10 years in the wood, never spent the money for the 15 year old.
Got a bottle in the freezer right now waiting.......

Can't seem to find any Blanton's around here, so I just asked the local liquor store to order a case. Should be here by Thursday! I can't wait to check it out.

Trying something different tonight.

Wathen's Kentucky Bourbon. Barrel #258. Hand Bottled 6-13-07. 94 proof from 8 generations & 250 years. Pretty tasty and smooth for an inexpensive bourbon.

Wtf?! The itsy bitsy fine print says...
Bottled by Charles Medley Distillery
San Jose, CA

That's just a couple of f'ing miles from here! Jeez. At least it was distilled in Kentucky.

So picture this. It was distilled in Ky, put in a barrel and shipped to CA. Hopefully to mellow there.

Hmmmmm........

PM,

I tried the hot key and hardly any pages have text on them. The pictures load and I get no text on, say, the History of Bourbon page.

Is it just me?
