Grojean takes pole:
Qualifying Fast 6 was stopped twice by Kirkwood crashing and ensuing restart Mclaughlin taking a spin and saved the car but lost engine power. So it came down to really a one lap run for the remaining drivers.

Just replaced my 16 year old TV and watched the race- very good! Curious, with all the publicity they now get in the US, isn't it strange Huski doesn't sell the stuff here?

Crazy race, cars getting launched in the air more than once, and then the top two cars took each other out at the end. Shame for Romain who up to that point had done pretty much everything right but threw it away in a critical pass attempt that was defended more aggressively than traction allowed. It was more entertaining than the F1 race in Bahrain, IMO.

Nice seeing Erixsson take the win although it may have only happened due to an odd engine event on O'Ward's car late in the race that basically handed the pass opportunity to Marcus.

Thanks John.. @jdurbin1 I'm still digging to get to post some pics on replay and Indycar action especially as street races are so unpredictable and fast. Actually McLaughlin admitted blame for taking Grosjean (and himself out) defending. O'Ward was downhearted giving up the lead with no shot at a pass.

I think O'ward gained some tactics and setups from his F1 testing (Alex Palau also tested with McLaren) at Red bull ring (admitted the G-forces on his neck were intense and needed strengthening exercises) and post season test drive at Abu Dahbi where he said he would try "some stuff" back in Indy this year. I can see those neck exercises and body work are now part of his regimen as his neck is visually 'muscular' over last year and I think he looks really in shape at interviews, too.

that was a very exciting race, three wide.
Yes it was, those closing laps were some of the closest multicar lead battles I've seen in a while. Had there not been that last lap Caution with Newgarden in a slight lead, O'ward and Newgarden would have had a sprint to the finish line. That's Indycar... you just never know how any race will finish.
I'll be watching it again. https://fullraces.com/

Alabama 'Children's' GP at Barber this weekend. Always an exciting competition.

Race: This race is strategy 2 or 3 stop and fuel and tire management is a major factor. Pole winner Romain Grosjean lead the majority of the race however Scott Mclaughlin had push to pass advantage and he couldn't defend getting passed on lap 72. Will Power also tried to hunt down Grosjean but his tires were shot near race end and didn't risk 3rd for a few points.

This is one race replay you should see.. not only living up to the Drivers favorite track but the Park itself one of the best facilities if not the best on Schedule. www.fullraces.com
