IndyCar 2023

That was a very clean race at nashville, it's too bad the red flag had to occur, but I don't think it changed the outcome much.

Looks like weather delay at this mornings practice throughout the day unknown for qualifying time if any. Tomorrows forecast is clear/no rain.

Fast 6 Qualifying; Newgarden didn't advance after putting his car into a tire barrier. results were not made available for the remainder of the grid.

Heckuva season-ender at Laguna Seca (Monterey), with the newly resurfaced track yielding blazing fast laps but slippery off-line sections sending cars off track. Quali time was something like 5 seconds faster than the track record, and the race itself was full of drama with 4 or 5 full caution yellow stints due to collisions or cars going off track and having to be rescued.

Age and treachery ruled the day again, with Scott Dixon recovering from a first lap incident that had him penalized for contact that forced the other car off the track, though watching the replay I think he was put in that scenario by another car that had hit him - the incident was a real melee with several cars involved. But, with a clever alternative strategy from the team, Dixon fought back from near the back of the pack to end up winning the race, his first win at that venue and 3rd of the season. Never count that guy out!

Ganassi had Dixon's win, Palou came in 2nd (he'd already clinched the season trophy previous to this race) and another of his drivers (Armstrong) won the Rookie of the Year award. This was Chip's 15th title in open wheel racing between CART and IndyCar, impressive.
