It's the new Milli Vanilli...

A theater full of iPhones on tripods, hooked to laptops!
End stages they won't need the theater, left in ruins from disuse. If we're gonna go A. I. it seems reasonable to consider the/a logical outcome. I don't see anything restraining it. People applaud, impressed by claims A. I. has slipped the yoke into being, what ever that is, its not us. Country western music by the Landscape Cowboys and its top of the chart. Ya can't make this schit up, I didn't, it did.

3D Holographic projection using the same A. I. that created the songs. Security provided by robotic dogs controlled by that same A. I. The whole show is an A. I. creation including staff, accounting, legal, promotion, all of it A. I. without human labor. Available for download from an A.I. managed hosting site. Seamless, except for the 'carbon' loop, the audience, but that too is on schedule. It's so exciting, coasting always is.
If I am not mistaken, I think that is the basic premise behind Meta and Zuckerberg's "virtual reality." Put on the VR glasses, sit back and enjoy the AI concert at home.

I guess......
Gee, that's exciting.....
Oh boy, can't wait........
And hey! The glasses are only $2799.00....
ANd the tickets are only $300!

And you'll be billed whether you attend, watch, or even know about it. Its all virtual so who's to contest the moment before the moment when A. I. wears the robes of what is and what is not. Its so simple that what is is in plain sight, where it always is.

Wait a minute.....

"Third Stage" is pretty good, too.

It only took a decade to release.

I don't think it is a fair comparison to say that Boston was a precursor to AI. I mean the thing about Boston and Tom Scholz is the guy built his own studio in his basement. And then he played all of the parts and put them together. That isn't even that unusual. Lots of other artists have been known to play multiple parts on an album. I would say Paul McCartney was one. Maybe even the Stones at times. And then after the Boston album was put out he needed to get a band so that they could go on tour to promote it. They didn't really like that part of it either... And then there were the lawsuits. Typical band stuff frankly. A lot different than a computer using an algorithm to "create music". Someone still wrote actual songs in the case of Boston. There was no computer algorithm involved...

Especially, considering that he created the first album in his basement over a couple of years while working full time.

And even mo' especially since he invented MUCH of the electronics used in the recording - maybe the guitar amp pedals and lotsa stuff like that? I read the story a few years ago, and man, I was MIGHTILY impressed.

OMG - then there is Brad Delp's voice!!

Here's what's scary, I replied to this thread then a lip sync video shows up on my YT with Milli V as the main offender but it goes into detail of the history of that band and also calls out singers like JLo and claims she didn't sing any of her songs.

The scary part is a thread up in the tech section mentioned the site being slow, maybe cuz AI was scrapping info, I reply here and that shows up on my TV shortly after......

Yeah. At first, a coincidence, then something that just happens, then, so what.

Frankly I think the people who have invested so much money in AI are trying to justify it by finding things to do with AI. Things that don't really need to be done and don't serve any purpose at all. Where is this all going? Who knows at this point in time.
I actually felt the same way when Personal Computers first came out. I spent more time trying to figure out how to use my brand new 286 DX computer than I did doing anything productive on it. Forty years later I still don’t really know how to use one that much, but What I do use is sure helpful. I know it has helped a lot of people. Hell cars can drive themselves and I never dreamed I would be able to see a fish go after my lure under water while fishing. What it all leads to, nobody really knows for sure. I hope it all goes well, but I probably won’t be around. The babies that are born right now won’t know a life without it.

Damn a 286. Now that is some ancient technology. I got into the game with a 486 DX2 66. Had that one for about 13 years. My son even figured out how to make USB work with it, even though USB was not around when that computer came out. Now I have two computers that are way more advanced. The 486 was finally recycled. Oh well...

My first CD player was in fact the one in that old computer. Took the headphone out and plugged it into the stereo.
