I haven't perused this thread in awhile, and while I appreciate all of the the guitars on this thread, yours apeal to me because I play an SG+ tobacco burst that my loving wife gave to me for xmas last year. Also, Godin makes excellent guitars that are in my price range! I absolutely love the looks of that LG - how does it play/sound? I am mostly familiar with Seymour Duncan pickups (SSL2 and JB jr.). What kind of humbuckers are in the LG? Or are they big single coils?

BTW, I can empathize about the artheritis - I have it in my left hand (old injury, broken bone, never healed) so I can't play more that 30 min - 1hr. Of course, I am no good, so it is only for my own enjoyment anyway!

The LG plays and sounds fantastic IMHO. The two humbuckers are Godin branded, but I've heard that they might be Seymour Duncan?? It has a 5-way switch, which splits the humbuckers in positions 2 and 4, for a decent single-coil sound, and combines them in position 3. This gives the guitar a lot of different sounds. The tuners are kind of cheap, so I'll probably end up replacing them at some point. Otherwise, the LG is perfect for me at this point. I get a lot of positive comments on how it looks. People love the look of that natural mahogany finish.:yes: The only downside to the mahogany that I've found, is that it is more affected by the humidity than my SDxt was, and goes out of tune more frequently because of that. Which, the LP or Bassman? You have any idea about the amp? What is the S/N? When was the grill cloth changed, or is that a transition model?

Man oh man, that is a sweet archtop! You probably just showed me my next quitar. I have been looking at the Ibanez and Epiphones, but haven't bit yet. That cognac sunburst looks absolutely gorgeous!

Looks like a take on the old student model Gibsons and Epiphones. The ES-125's and Granada's.

Is that weather checking on the LP? From the angle of the pic it looks like a flame top instead of a gold top.

Just picked it up an hours ago.. 15 minutes and my fingers are sore.. Man do I have some practicing and strengthening to do..

Sounds pretty bad ass though my system though.. OH.. the body looks a lot cooler than this picture does justice.. I do need to take the strings off and do a lot of cleaning, and could use some wax and swirl removed, but other wise.. I think I got a hell of a great deal for 150.. A lot lighter than I was expecting, and the neck is thinner than I was used to playing..

That is a fine looking instrument. What brand and model? I have a 14 year old nephew who is quite the bassist, but I haven't learned enough from him to tell what I am looking at. He (my nephew Trey) is all about Bartellini pickups some kind of top of the line Ibanez bass.

Nice bass, James. If you don't know how to set up a guitar, I'd strongly recommend you take it to a local luthier or music store and have it done. It should run about $30. Have him install fresh strings while he's at it. It'll make the bass much easier to play, not to mention sound better. Good luck with getting your callouses back. Install a fresh battery, too.

Just checked the battery before you posted Ken.. Brand new.. The guy said the strings were new, maybe a couple hours playing on them, but I'm not real fond of them.. Round wound.. I'm goinng to get some flat wound..

As far as the setup of it, I was just checking it all over, and looks to be really good. The lower bridge could use just a small adjustment and I think it will be about as good as it gets..

So far, I'm pretty impressed with it.. pretty light action, although my fingers no longer work.. Yep.. sore fingertips already.. hehehe..

Is that a new Swede? A guy from High School had one and hte summer after we graduated, he replaced Daryl Stuermer in a local band, because Daryl left to play with Jean luc Ponty. Daryl had a Swede at the same time, but he had a Les Paul neck installed. Nice axes. Heavy, too.

It's an Ulta Swede, has a thinner neck, they claim the thinnest and fastest neck. I bought it beacause it fits, sounds good, plays easy, very well built and looks great.
