I had the good fortune to have access to an old-style hydraulic lift at my girlfriend's parent's house in Pasadena, CA. A local gas station was going out of business decades earlier and offered it to her dad for $100 if he would pick it up. This was just so cool for working on my 2006 Mazda 5, which currently has a bit over 208K miles on it...and running great! Sadly, both parents have since passed and the house was sold in 2018. But, until then, I was able to use this vintage lift for more than 5 years!

I used to have a friend that had a lift. It was nice to be able to use it. But, differences developed between us, and that is over now.
But there are enough DIY shops over here where you can use a lift for around €10/hour, so that´s no problem

A high school friend had a '65 Pontiac Catalina with a tri-power 389, 4 speed. As huge as that sled was, it would flat fly.
