lets see your ride !

Yes, Doug's auction site. It's a 92 with extensive maint. records. New timing belt, water pump. Replaced trans with close ratio gear set.

Excellent !
I got a ride in a similar car quite a while back, was very impressed by it, felt perfectly balanced and nicely compliant over bumps, etc.
A close-ratio trans transforms an already good car to another level. I put a close-ratio 5-speed in my 1st BMW (`76 530i), it made a huge difference in driving enjoyment.

Everything else is mostly the typical durable Chrysler leftovers from the 1960s. Except the dash, junk.
440, no lean burn on the 76 440.
The '67 that preceded it ran fine and actually handled better. It was the only car I've ever driven where I could literally watch the gas gauge move at 70 mph!

He replaced it with a '79 Cadillac that gave him great service for many years. Within a couple years, I purchased the first of many Hondas, an '81 Accord. I've always had a Honda ride since. :)

Dad had 60's Chryslers; they were just fine.
I have a clean and healthy 98 Deville NorthStar with 100k. Not expecting "great service for many years" from it.
Do want a 77/79 Deville. Haven't seen a clean one worth having in years.
Bought a new Accord in 76, good car. At 100k it needed clutch, paint, trans sanchos, motor rings, rust repair, seat seams but still averaged 36 mpg. I think the early ones were 100k cars.

This is what was involved when I leveled my Toyota Tundra 'Sport' truck by lowering the rear 3.25" so it sat level with the front end. New leaf spring packs that are hung under the axle instead of being perched on top of the axle, shorter Bilstein shocks, Air-Lift bags to defeat sagging when towing or carrying a heavy load. The factory ground clearance is unchanged.

I added an extra heavy rear anti-roll bar to further improve handling... you should also be able to see my 2 into 1 custom cat-back exhaust system with Helmholtz resonator that dumps behind the axle.

I love the Contour SVT. My son had one and it was such a fun car to drive. Unfortunately he totaled it.
