Jerry, I agree, bad idea at this point. You are only one step away from the ultimate upgrade. One last push and you are there! XRT2K's and MC2KW's. Yeah baby! You may have to eat nothing but durian for a month or two but I think it will be worth it! :D

Not bad if its Durian .... but do you know good ones costs!

More like plain bread crumps and water ..... for the next 5 years .... :D

Hmmmm, XRT2K's and MC2KW's, ... well, seriously they wuld not perform to their best in my small little apartment. So, the first step would be ... move house! To a bigger 3000 sqaure feet apartment, at the very least ......... and that my friend, will drain the last drop of my blood ... and even then, may still be miles from the goal! :tears:

How I wish I had a godfather name Ivan M ..... the hand-me-down would suffice! :D :D :D

Now, have you decided to be a good daddy and buy ALL your children, each a 60 incher Pioneer Plasma TV to adorn their bedroom walls? You can alway top that up with a Blu-ray player of the same brand .......

You would be hearing this .... I guess .... "Oh daddy, we all so love you leh ...."

No need, the XRT2K's make everything disappear; remember...

My oldest will be driving next year and I am pretty sure I know what he will be asking for. So a much more reasonably priced flat panel will have to do. :D

My oldest just started driving this summer. I found him a used car with 52,000 miles on it (Chevy). I waxed the car with him the first time to see where all the dings and scratches were. I'm not going to be too concerned about dings on his first car. We will probably wax it again this winter to see how well he is taking care of it.

As far as flat panels. I have had the Sony 60" rear proj. LCD (matching stand)for almost 3 years and it has been a work horse. The set is used alot by all three children. It's been flawless. Not once did I have to worry about burn in from games and all the other negatives with the new technologies.

I will be looking into plasma in the next 6 months, I feel they are a bargain now and am interested to see how far the contrast, resolution and speed has developed over the last 3 years. My Sony was the 4th generation set (all bugs fixed) before they switched to 1080 SRDX(?). Personally, the Sony I have which is 720p, I feel outperforms the 1st. generation SXRD set in picture quality.
