Now in the ADS 910 club

Krylon satin black will be perfect. Spray the badge, then sand on 400 grit which will remove the paint on the raised surfaces. This is what I did on mine, came out great.

Those are beautiful speakers. I love the ADS stands too.

How's the tweeter testing going? If your meter doesn't read zero ohms when touching the leads together either you have a dead battery, leads plugged into an incorrect port or the meter is blown. You can always look around for a harbor freight coupon, they often times have a free meter offer with any other purchase.

Will do. How do I remove the 1 badge I have? Heat gun?

I connected the speaker cable directly to the tweeters and nothing. I need to get them repaired. :(

I got the speaker grill cloth put on today. Not bad. The 2nd one looks better than the 1st, but a far better improvement than the cat piss stained ones from before.

That looks great! What glue did you use and did you use staples as well?
The badges pop off easily. Gently wedge a putty knife under it. It may bend a little, but easy to flatten.

I just looked back at my thread and wanted to revise my comment that the original badges used FLAT black, not satin, and here's a couple pics before & after mine were completed.

I used that spray glue I posted about in an earlier thread. It works well, but will get all over the place. I could see using a different type of glue to keep it cleaner. It was easy to work with.

Thanks for the badge removal tip. I need send the badge to my moms Fiance so he gets it CNC'd correctly.

Thanks for the glue tip, and ill be watching for the first test badge!

I read on the turntable forum that double sided tape works well for badges, and so far it has worked well for me on an AR badge

Hey Steel!
Checking in on the badge progress. Lots of anxious gents here!
Glenn, I got the badge off today. Been dealing with preparing for a wedding and was gone for 4 days camping. My time is tight! Anyhow, he should have it tomorrow, so hopefully we'll see something this week! Thanks for checking in.

Are you the groom? If so, congratulations! And remember, there's a reason it's called an "Institution"!:)

Wife Acceptance Factor (WAF) will soon be applicable. Congrats!

PS, also looking forward to badges. Do you have an estimated price?

Cheers, George

I'll remember that. As for price, I am not sure yet, actually. I have something in my head, but don't know how much materials will be, along with the labor to get them cut out. I'll let you guys know. He should be getting the badge in the hour, so maybe I'll see something today.

Double sided tape works, but eventually will dry out, or the adhesive will get gooey and they will start to slide downward again. I glued mine with Aileen's Tacky glue, roughing the surface of the cab a little for good glue bite.
