I agree 100% with Mrvintage, this is my Son with his first catch many years ago.

The startled look on his face is because the fish began flopping around, at which point it was taken off the hook & put back in the water....

Been tough conditions for river fishing here, windy and high pressure the last month. Yesterday was stone flat and overcast, my favorite time to fish.
Fished topwater real slow, Zara Spook got destroyed by the Snakehead and switched to a Whopper Plopper. Got about a dozen blowups, lost a few on the retrieve and a few missed the lure. Caught 3 nice Largemouth and the dragon was dinner. Big Black snake on shore was about 6 feet long.

Been out a couple times a week lately, never any huge days but always something. Got 6 yesterday but it wasn't easy. This pretty one hit a Baby Torpedo on top late afternoon.

Baby and Tiny Torpedos are my favourite topwater lures of all-time. My two favourite patterns are the Black Shore Minnow and Leopard Frog. The Black Shore Minnow is always seen as a nighttime colour only, but it produces big time during the day, too. I've probably caught as many or more on it as I have with the frog pattern. Some of the G-finish ones were excellent, too.




Also, the jointed Jitterbug is a close second for me. It's massively underrated. Like any topwater lure, you just have to know how (and when) to work it.

Looks like a rat snake. We get big ones in my part of Canada up to 8-feet long.

I’m out right now and have a 30” walleye already in the live well and I’ve only been out for 35 minutes on Georgian Bay in Ontario

Yes it did lightly battered pan fried with home fries and baked beans with fresh buns. We call it the Georgian Bay shore lunch and it’s awesome. If you use a guide that’s what your shore lunch always is taste best cooked on open fire yummy!!!!!!!!!

P.S. there was enough to take to a few of our older neighbours to enjoy as well

Yep, that's a classic Canadian shore lunch right there (I'm about 2-3 hours away from Georgian Bay). There's nothing like it. Done over an open fire in a cast iron skillet, it simply can't be beat! I usually do mine Cajun-style on a bun, but a good old beer batter is delish! Plus, the beans make for good laughs around the campfire later on!

anytime you want to experience your georgain bay shore lunch let me know. I’d be glad to take you out and enjoy the that feeling. I fish at least 3-6 days a week and have the beans and Cajun spice ready.

These two guys are brothers and fish in my lake. These fish were caught last year probably. The bass fingerlings were stocked in the lake June 2021.

Just got back from Biscotasing 565km north of where I live in northern Ontario the Leaves are already changing colour. Walleye fishing was amazing 7days in the bush and forget about cell phone we lost signal 3hrs into our 7.5hr drive.
