Post a Picture of your Tape Deck - Decks

This recently came my way. It was given to me by a family member cleaning out his garage. A Revox A77. It plays back okay, I haven't tried recording. The reel it came with is a party mix from the 70s. Interesting stuff. I deoxed the pots as they where scratchy. I don't have any other tape reels, so I haven't done much with it. I know very little about R to R's. Would like find additional take up reels and tape. It seems like a nice deck.

It is a nice deck...just be careful as there are capacitors in it that inevitably fail catastrophically, as in they explode. Just google "Revox Rifa caps."

Who did your repaint …looks good.

Just changed out the brake felts with some synthetic felt material I bought for sax repair and it works perfect . I completely refurbished this one and have a second one for parts and the silver front . When doing the felt brakes a second time after overhaul I swapped on the black front panel. And no it won't play CD's but looks cool for the pic . My reels are on my 377. I will post pic of that one also .

My Technics RS-M258R. Bought it from a guy who purchased it when he was stationed overseas in the early 80's. Used very little and then stored in its box for 40 years when the guy moved back to the US. Has the European plug and adjustable voltage selector.

Howa hard is to replace the belts on these ones? They do have a lot of belts. And if one of them gets larger, can you get a tape destroyed because the idler will move faster.
I have one cassette recorder on such a deck.

As posted in the latest audio purchase thread... TC-RX79ES. Kinda small compared to the other Sony gear in the stack.

@kpodolski Nice TC-K717ES. BTW: make sure that you have it powered down when not playing tapes - learned the hard way with my original RX79ES. Fried the capstan motor, causing the deck to play tapes at 1.5x speed. Same thing happened to my old TC-RX606ES, apparently. Had the tendency to make a contralto singer sound like she was a soprano.

Love that "Nikon" camera.
1st I thought that the C.D. player is a L.D. player.

What tube amplifier?

Old hack rebuilt and spinnin' reels again. Err, maybe the singular "reel" is more accurate:

Does a good enuff job.....for what it is.

Fun to mess about with, but not really serious audio. Just a fun little distraction.

I picked up a BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer for peanuts to hook up with the 8 track and see what it does. Just more messing about stuff and idle curiosity than anything else.

Ordered and on the way. Should be here in a couple more days:

Superscope (by Marantz) TDR830. That pic is from the ad I bought it from.

Internet harvested pic of one powered up:

It will get the standard tear down, cleaning, inspection and the needed lubrication. New belts are already in hand and it will also get my "sandblast" capstan refreshing.

Stock W&F figure is 0.25 rms, so that's the minimum goal with the "refresh".

Otari MX-5050 BIII-2 on its shakedown run after some TLC.

I need to make some hardwood sides for it. I bought a pair advertised for MX5050 cheap on ebay (my buddy called them firewood) while the deck was in isolation. (Some nasty looking West PA spiders in it). I did some repair work, stained and finished the sides. Once I unbagged the deck I realized they were slightly small with holes drilled in incorrect location. Holes redrilled; others plugged for now. The rack mounts would tear my arms up moving this brute around.
