Post Your Marantz Gear Here!!!

Just received mine back from being restored. A huge thank you to Randy for his diligent efforts to bring this one back to life. It was a mess. Thank yooooou!
The sound is so sweet. Playing a cd on my Yamaha CD-1. Something about that cd player. Beautiful.

I have joined the Marantz club! Picked up this 2215b today. Planning on recapping it once I complete my current Sansui 350a project. It appears to be in really good shape. Someone has swapped out the lamps for LEDs which I think I quite like.

Over the years, I've had several different Marantz receivers and the little 2215b remains one of my absolute favorites. It is quite clear and detailed compared to some of the bigger, "warmer" sounding Marantz's.

I use mine regularly and it is the go-to choice for me for critical listening since it isn't as colored as my others.

Yours looks to be in beautiful shape. Enjoy it!

Old picture, but still going strong here. Serviced it like 12 years ago with the help of the nice guys of this forum. No problems ever since. Marantz 4400.

The Marantz 4400 is one of the best looking receivers of all time, IMO. The wood cabinet is the icing on the cake.

It's not vintage but I just bought another Marantz integrated for use in my studio. I was able to buy a new PM6007 for $550 from a well known dealer who often sells refurbs. Because they room on new units but not the refurb Marantz's (so they told me), it was $100 more than the refurb. Of course, the refurb might have the previous DAC chip.

I have mixed feelings about new marantz units. Use to have PM8005 but it seems to lost his richness of sound vs vintage units. In that particular comparison vs 2238b, vintage wins with ease. Maybe it is just colorfull sound with vintage units and modern one are more pure, neutral if you wish. But it is a Marantz. And a preety one too.
And it wonders me that an offer for $550 is a good deal in US. Here in europe the regular price is from 399€. Go figure.

My recent ebay score , they came very dirty in and out ,lamps burn out , but absolutely MINT CONDITION optic , they were stored in boxes for last 30 years as seller told me and i belive him considering they do not have any scratch , not a tiny one.......cleaned , restored ,and put to work , 2226b and 5010......btw , recordings on maxell Chrome are very impressive , i did not expect that from a basic 2 head deck at all.....

Those are beautiful! I used to have a 2226b but I sold it a number of years ago. It was very sweet sounding and had a lot of detail. Of all the Marantz receivers I have had and sold, the 2226b and the 2245 were my favorites.

I heard before 2226b is one of best sounding marantz ever , but ,to be honest , i did not belive it until it came , im listening my whole music collection and i cant belive what im hearing , bass is very well controlled , i have some vinyls that sound better without loudness , i never experienced something like this before......

That's great! Glad you're enjoying it. That sure is a nice looking setup you have.

I have a regular 2226 (non-b) in my collection now and it sounds really nice too. There is a sweetness in these lower power Marantz receivers that isn't there in the bigger ones, IME. My 2226 and 2215b get more play time than my 2240 and 2275. They all sound good but the smaller ones are really special.
