Random Thoughts or Whatever

Thank you kind Sir. for that compliment, I`m glad that you concur.
Take care DesertRatt, and try to have a fruitful & enjoyable weekend.
After being retired now 25 years, I barely know the difference between weekday and weekend, but your point is none the less well received, and appreciated. Today, is "colored pin bowling" day! Now, the last time we did this about a month ago, I got paid $5 for ONE strike in the "$5 if you get a strike on THIS BALL" game. HA! I was the only bowler of 8 on our pair to collect the prize! Funny how $5 bucks can suddenly feel like a million! It's the small things in life......

What! No Instagram photos of every single thing you do (no matter how mundane)!

"Here I am putting my new designer socks on, one at a time! Here's the organic virgin oatmeal I made from scratch! Here I am brushing my teeth with my Maserati-designed turbocharged toothbrush!"

Don't you know that the world is begging for this information every moment of the day?

Well my concerned A/K friend, to do so readily with attached pictures, would suggest the ownership and use of a handy personal tracking & privacy violating internet connected smartass cellphone, that can take pictures to provide evidence of my pathetic life`s daily activities/existence that certainly is of no interest/value to anyone, including myself, and I don`t own said device.

Now, I will admit to occasionally watching various silly stupid human fail videos on YT, some seem to be captured by folks showing some daily activity they were doing that failed !

I feel your pain. I used to feel that way. Well, I still do, but I leave people to their need to post that stuff. It's rampant on Facebook. A lot of people I otherwise respect greatly are still posting pictures of their meal. The internet feeds the narcissism beast for us all. :rflmao:

This is from Ray Dalio. I think this Arc of Existence applies also to companies, countries, and systems of all kinds--natural and synthetic. You could apply this arc to Sears, Kodak, AOL, or cast iron V8s. Example: Right now I would place Microsoft at the very peak, ready for the ride to oblivion.

As a 72 year old, I can say that almost nails me. Obviously some details are missine and some things are out of order, but that sums it up nicely.

However, I should add that that represents the person who has lived a successful life. Some people don't get past the "fail at something big" step. It does them in. And some never do anything that's big enough (even in its impact to their own life) to have an impactive "fail".

Etc.

But it matches the typical "life well lived". BTW, I had major open heart surgery three years ago. It took at least 15 years off my age, so I got to move the needle back quite a bit - but I stayed retired.

Every now and then, something good happens or comes into your life. It helps charge the drained battery.
