Random Thoughts or Whatever

Just wondered (random thought)...what musical instrument do you prefer to hear played? And perhaps why this choice over the others?

Curious is all...

Q
Electric guitar with a touch of fuzz, played with feeling like David Gilmore does... none of that horrid sounding shredding

You mean, like this "horrid sounding shredding??

Not necessarily good to paint with a broad brush. ;)

Regards,
Gordon.
That is not what I call "Shredding", that is magnificent Blues... I'm thinking of that awful sounding Ingwe Malmsteen bull spit and others like him that try to cram in as many notes as possible just to make noise...

You first.

Alphabetically: bass, cello, clarinet, drums, guitar, flute, oboe, piano, saxaphone, synthesizer, trombone, trumpet, vibraphone and violin.

Just gave up the guitar ('69 vint Jammy/ Red Label 180) after years of being a fair player, now into a Blues Harp world... with little skill at present

These days, I just noodle for fun. I'll hear a tune and wonder if I could cop a few lines.

That's what makes the smaller Taylor so nice for figuring out chord progressions. Or I use a cheap electric unplugged to see if I can copy articulations.

Double stops and uneven bends.

We had a couple GS minis here too. They are a great value and easy to play. Wife learned to play on a GS mini.
I think the Taylor's mini tone is better than the Martin's mini line.

It sure is more comfortable in front of the computer screen than my HD28.

Waaay better. I tried several Martin Mini --didn't like any of them - and that's coming at a time when I had 10 Martins hanging in my room. Anyone would be way better off to hunt down a Martin 0-16 NY. <---That has some nice tone!

For those who remember, you hit the jackpot! The best screen possible!

The one acoustic guitar I should not have "given away" was an old 1970s-era Gibson Hummingbird. It was all beat up, but the action and tone were unmatched.

An old girlfriend ended up with it. :(

I like my 1980s Martin HD28. It'll do for my skill level.

Still want a room filled with natural percussion instruments of any and every type. I was naturally attracted since my first music class. Did some brass back then, but no woodwind other than the very basics of making noise. I wouldn't be opposed to experimenting with a Tenor Sax. again.
