Random thought (after reading a thread this morning): How many people have damaged their listening ability due to loud producing events like:
hockey rinks/rock concerts/movie theatres/home-audio/TV crank-ups/movie watching/parties/race car/Drag events?

My dad worked for a pulp & paper company, wherein a huge drum rotated with molten Sulphur was close to him for the better part of 30 years. It wasn't that loud, but doing 8 hrs a day near this gigantic piece of equipment, producing really low frequencies did a number on his ability to hear. Amplitude was low, but the constant rumble weakened the inner ear parts!
Personally, I've really gone overboard in muffling sound, but still have lost a little of the upper range of hearing ability.
Read some where wherein most of us peak at 12 years, and hearing goes down hill...depending!

I spent yesterday at the NASCAR Phoenix 500. LOUD wouldn't begin to describe it. We did have the rented "race radios" headsets which have rather excellent noise blocking earpieces - thankfully. Otherwise it would be a no-go.
FWIW, Curiously, did anyone who uses Microslops Win 11 OS`s EDGE browser noticed recently, like around a month or so back, that they removed the CoPilot icon from EDGE browser`s search bar and put back their originally default Bing search engine`s icon ?
Yes, they had so many complaints about embedded Co-Pilot, that they removed from several apps including Edge. I rarely open Edge - I use Thorium. But, I DO like using Co-Pilot. I just open the app - - much less painful.
Pain is fortunately NOT recallable in scale. You can recall that you had pain, but you can not "re-feel" the pain. Apparently the psyche experts say that if pain was recallable, we never would have advanced past simple, safe life.
