Some Vietnam-era movies are good. I remember seeing “Deer Hunter” without a clue what it was about. That movie left a lasting impression on me.
I felt the same way after seeing “Reservoir Dogs” (though not a war movie). Sometimes, it’s better not to know what the film is about or be jaded by people’s opinions.

Oftentimes, years go by hearing songs without paying great attention to all the lyrics. Such a song I heard the other day, but I like Kenny Rogers and for some reason listened to the whole song lyric. WHAT?? Someone wrote a song about a gang rape and a triple homicide? That's just weird! "Coward of the County." written by Roger Bowling and Billy Edd Wheeler.

I’ve noticed that Gen Z male co-workers (especially unmarried ones—there seem to be more of them) get bored easily after 6 months on the job. These guys switch jobs every two years. Some have had more jobs in 5 years than I’ve had in 35 years. These are fairly nice guys. But they’re heavy into social media, which I didn’t have to contend with much when I first started.
I’m not sure why — maybe they have higher (unmet) expectations? Or maybe my generation is less inclined to get bored and move on.
A few have returned to where I work, 5 years later. It’s a shame, since they have to start at the bottom of the totem pole again, with seniority and a retirement fund.
Way more common now than ever before. You can tell the types when they first start working. Common traits: no wives or girlfriends, no houses, no other big anchors in life, no high-end audio to support .
