Service needed in Michigan - Crossed Paths Vintage??

Ouch . . . a new search turned up mucho evidence against CPV. Unfortunately, most of the info I found was posted after I sent him my receiver.

As far as actual court filings etc, I don't know but you could probably turn something up if you know how to search them. Also it seems like a lot of people do get their stuff back, eventually, but struggle to get a refund for work not done, which may not be worth the costs of going the legal route.
 
I have read through this post only because this unfortunate situation has happened to me locally and not through crossed paths/eBay.
How is it possible this Clown still is allowed 32 active listings on EBay to scam people?
 
I wonder that too. If anything at least I know where my receiver is since he had it shipped to his house. His house must be packed full of electronics "waiting" to be restored.
 
For those waiting on CPV -- some positive news, at least. I did receive an email message and phone call today that my receiver is finished and on its way back to me (FedEx tracking number shows the package is in their possession). Brent did include a detailed description of the work performed along with some chassis photos showing recapped boards, etc. Will post back once I have the receiver in hand and able to give it a good look-see and listen.

The listing stated that they will perform a complete restoration and cleaning of my receiver with a 30 day turnaround for $400, plus $30 tax, and the cost of return shipment ($50). The listing also stated that they would provide total transparency regarding where my unit was in the queue at any time. This listing was exactly what I was looking for, so I placed an order for it. Soon after, a person named Brent Huskins at Crossed-Paths called and thanked me for the order and we discussed how to ship the unit to them. He also mentioned that the revised turnaround time would be by the end of March, which I was OK with. I sent the receiver to Crossed-Paths via Fedex and it delivered on 1/8/21. Since then I have received NO information on my unit, per the verbiage on their listing. I've called and emailed Brent several times and all he does is push the date out. He last told me on 4/2/21 that I would have the receiver back in mid-May. To-date, I haven't received the unit. I emailed Brent again yesterday voicing my frustration and displeasure and demanding that he return my receiver, as advertised and paid for. So far, no reply. I contacted Ebay Customer Service yesterday and reported the listing as fraudulent. Ebay just got back to me via email stating that they are investigating Crossed-Paths for fraud. I'm afraid that I've been scammed out of $480 and my receiver. Good luck to anyone that bought this "service" from Crossed-Paths.

OK, happy to report I received my Sansui 5000X back from CPV today and all is well. The receiver looks great, sounds great and everything is now functioning as it should. I didn't pop the hood open yet but a glance through the cooling slots in the wood case shows new caps, a cleaner chassis, etc. -- again, I haven't opened the unit up yet for a full chassis inspection. Front and back panels are clean, all inputs have been cleaned and polished, pots and switches are smooth and quiet. Also got a bench report showing the unit is making around 68.5 WPC with a very close balance. CPV also sent back all of the original caps and transistors that were replaced along with three ICs that were replaced in the tuner section.

Overall, the workmanship looks excellent from the outside, all switches and controls are functional, the receiver is dead quiet at idle and it sounds much better than when I sent it in for the service. So for those waiting on the return of your amps . . . keep the faith, I guess. It was unfortunate about the time delays and some of the gaps in communication -- just glad to have the receiver back and fully functioning.

Eeeasy, big fella . . . I got tingly reading that. But all kidding aside, will do. Work bench is a mess right now but will snap some photos when I get a moment to get things cleaned up.
 
Good to hear! Glad you finally got your receiver back. I'll follow up with Brent on Tuesday for mine and keep you guys posted.

Did he put new 6013 boards in it he stole from me? This guy is a piece of work. His list of victims seems to grow weekly.
