Very difficult to beat a good burger (organic ground beef). Nice thick slices of tomato, avocado & onion on a potato bun with Heinz ketchup (there's only one) & Grey Poupon. So big and thick and juicy that it requires a bit of personal 'clean up' after my meal. Absolutely one of my favs.

My daughter brought us an eggplant from her garden so my wife and I decided to make up some eggplant parmesan. Labor intensive but it sure was tasty! Had a loaf of Italian bread with it to soak up the sauce.

Our first attempt at dry aging an 18 lb Ribeye for 30 days was pretty successful.

We cooked it alongside a "control sample" of fresh Ribeye, and the dry-aged won hands down by all involved.

Had a family BBQ on Sunday and they sure put me to work. I forgot to take a picture at the party so you have to settle for leftover shots. I grilled 12 burgers, 8 hot dogs and 5 pounds of steak tips on 2 charcoal grills. Sides were baked beans, my son-in-law's homemade pickles and corn on the cob.

Local corn and angel hair pasta w/sauteed asparagus & tomatoes. We started with 4, each, collosal (fish monger's description) shrimp and home made cocktail sauce.
Drinkable Reisling. A most satisfying meal, but have to take my gout tabs tonight.

Salad - all greens and peppers from our garden. It’s a very small garden, I’m growing something like 23 different things, and it has been ridiculously productive this year. A huge salad has been nightly dinner probably 5 out 7 days a week all summer. You have to add your own Cyclospora .

We will be sad when winter comes.
