The latest here is a 2A3 with Music power supply OPT’s and Psvane Horizons. I’m pretty happy with it. No hum that I can detect, which was a big win for me.
Thanks! Here's the best resolution you can get.. Skunkie Designs 2A3 Amp It's based on the JE Labs schematic but with this version, you'd have to use the more modern, robust 2A3 from Psvane, which can handle higher dissipation and makes 5W with a 5V4 rectifier per Stephe.

@kentuckycat : what about hum in the speaker - since it is AC filament heating ? Can you null it completely with the 100R pot, on high efficiency speakers ?

T, I’m 64 years old so I can’t say I’ve got the best ears in the world. With that, I hear no hum at all and I’ve got very efficient speakers. Chorus II’s. 101dB if memory serves.
The only buzz that I can hear, which I think sounds kind of cool, is a faint warm-up buzz in the first 3 seconds that I switch on the amp. I normally leave the 100k pot turned up to full volume all the time because I use my WiiM as the volume control. My guess is that I would not hear that initial startup buzz if I use my volume pot and left it at zero during warmup.
I was very careful with routing the AC wiring and shielding the inputs. I think that might’ve been key to a dead quiet result.
Here is a 2A3 IT coupled amp I built recently. The premise behind this build was to use parts I had on hand that were lingering from a few projects.
I was initially going to use a 71A but switched to a 2A3 in "low power" (2.45W/channel) mode. This was due to the power transformer bought for use with the 71A. Long story short, this amp turned out to be one of the best sounding amps, regardless of power. On high efficiency loudspeakers, it is wonderful.
