Wow! That's honestly very impressive and kudos for finding a way. A Hyabusa scares me a bit even with two good hands.

Have you thought about one of the newer Hondas with a DCT?

He's through riding, just as I was some years back.

At his age, kicking the Triumph over hurt him for days.
Got 4 stints in his right leg.
Dude has a hard time getting his shoes on in the morning.

As do I.
More often than not, I use a cane.

My old crew and I rode hard in our day, built/restored a lot of very cool bikes.
Those of us who are still alive have nothing to prove at this point.

My wife sure wishes I felt that way.
One of my earliest memories as a little kid was seeing someone on a minibike going up a hill, under power. It's been an addiction ever since.
My guess is giving up things you love is as tough mentally as the physical part is.

first time i saw a B&S powered mini bike I was hooked. But my right leg now has a metal rod in it from a motorcycle accident in 2010, so that, coupled with what I feel is a ten fold increase in inattentive driving, people who could care less about ending your life..I do not have a riding bike. I do have this mint , unrestored, original ( including tires) that I show...It runs beautifully, but it's not ridden....I'm a gearhead, so I'll always miss riding........here it is on loan to the local museum.

Heading out on the 29th for a two week ride up thru New England. Have had to content myself with local rides for the last 2 years- finalizing the motels now. Bike & luggage is sorted and ready...

Just discovered this thread. A little hesitant to post this photo but, why not, I decided I wanted a bike when I was 16 ... 40 years later I got one, so yeah, this is my starter ride. I bought it a few years ago and it serves me well. If I still have the itch when I retire in a year or two, maybe upgrade to something bigger for some more serious touring.

I bought it a few years ago and it serves me well. If I still have the itch when I retire in a year or two, maybe upgrade to something bigger for some more serious touring.

My "starter" was a used Honda Cub 50 in 1966, and my first ride ever was getting it back to Ft Bliss in afternoon traffic.

Last September I was creamed by an inattentive driver who dropped his coffee onto the passenger side floor area and bent over to retrieve it, and when he reached with his right arm, his left hand on the lower side of the steering wheel was also pulling to the right, which pulled his car into my lane on a country road. I didn't see the idiot because he was coming up a hill that I was just coming to the crest of. I'm looking left & right for deer because the year before I came to this same situation where I crested a hill and hit a deer doing around 50mph. I crest the hill and here's this car all the way in my lane and I have little or no time to react doing around 45mph. I immediately turn to the right but I watch his front end just misses my leg and creams my saddlebag. At the same time my clutch hand hits his side view mirror and smashes it into his side window, shattering it and my mirror, too. Ever punch something coming at you at 45mph while you're heading towards it at 45mph? No broken bones but my hand hurt for a bit.

Had to get a new rear fender, fender struts, drive belt guard, clutch lever assembly, mirror, clutch cable, and new saddlebags. $3900 in damages. Crazy prices for the fender and to have it painted. Worked on putting it together after winter ended and it warmed up some. Happy to be riding again.

Everyone's got to start somewhere. Looks fine to me. I've had tons of bikes over the years, but the only one I have right now is a big kawasaki 1600 cruiser. I'm a tall guy, and it fits me better than most of the HD's I've had. Who cares what it is as long as it's yours. Ride the snot out of it.

I feel your pain. I've always preferred sport bikes but at 6'3 and 190 lbs I'm not exactly sport bike size. One of my racetrack buddies told me I looked like a bear on a bicycle on my ZX-6R.
