The 2/3s will never output as much bass as your L100s, nor will they be as dynamic or play as loud, however, they're much smaller speakers so that's sort of a given.

I understand completely. A pair of beautiful KEF Reference 103.2's in dark rosewood veneer, spent too much time in my closet. A pair of BOTL vinyl clad Spendor Preludes, put them there.

I was fortunate to pick up a pair of Spendor BCIII at an estate sale older ones I believe ... serial number 1688 and 89 with the triple prong plug connectors .. . They are going to need a bit of work on one of the woofers i have not pulled it apart yet but

I know I picked up a treasure, but I am probably not fully sure what I have yet and came here to ask you fine people its hard to find much information on the Splendor BC iii it does not generate a lot of google hits,

Yes please measure the stands, i am in the process of getting some custom made stands for mine BCIII.
I really don't know if there is a difference between BCIII and BC3

And please keep us updated on the woofer issue, any tip on how to keep these wonderful speaker alive is highly appreciated !

So the total height including casters was Equal front to back (there is no angle to them) at 10 and 3/4 inches, this includes the casters, and the hard rubber bumper that sits on top to keep from marring the speakers

10 3/4 high or 273 MM tall including casters This height is consistent front to back, they are the same on both front, and back. (first "tall picture"

the construction of the stands is a perfect square of 15 1/2 inches (394mm) (Second smaller picture)

The funny thing is i had not really heard or read much about any Spendor speakers prior to my purchase, i was at an estate sale, saw them, recognized the quality of construction, did a quick google to find out what i remembered was true that Spendor was a higher end manufacture and took a wild stab for for what felt like maybe a lot of money .. but depending on how the woofer situation turns out (i think the woofer may have separated from the spider, not in a violent way but in a glue failed way on 1/2 the cone I will not know more until i can make space get them on a bench and open them up properly.

They are lower than expected, - I believe that the original manual stated ca 32 cm -
The custom stands will take some time to arrive - in the mean time I have bought some 30 cm Atacamas that I will try out.

Looking for a second pair of speakers and bookshelf style, and the Spendor S3/5's keep coming up.

Would they pair well with a Bob Latino ST120 tube amp?

I'm enjoying these S1's very much paired with a Fisher 800c and Fisher 400. I imagine the S3/5 would be a step up in accuracy and detail and a little more power from the 6550's couldn't hurt anything.
