Hangonagoddaminnit! Wasn't Ramjam doing a cover of LEADBELLY's "Black Betty" in the first place?
The Stones themselves did an acoustic country version of Honky Tonk Women on "Let It Bleed". I dig it.
Joan Jett was doing a cover of I Love Rock 'n Roll which I think was by the Arrows or something.
Every damn alleged song by Sean Combs that ever got airplay is practically a cover. It's like they said in the SNL / Mad TV (don't know which) parody of "Biography" on him, "he's like Wierd Al, only not funny".
How about Barely Man-enough's cover of Meatloaf's Jim Steinman tune "Read 'Em and Weep"? Talk about drowning in syrup.
OH OH OH!!!! Which one of the psuedo-country "Buy my CD because you want to poke me" tarts was it that massacred Big Brother's "Piece of my Heart"? ****, Sammy Hagar did that song better than that tease did, and he's like, a DUDE.
I love me a whole bunch of Deep Purple but their cover of Hey Joe could put a hummingbird into a coma.
Alan Jackson's version of the Mercury song has completely poisoned me from being able to listen to anything else he does. When he first came out with "Chatahootchie" I thought he was pretty decent but man, now ever time I hear ONE SYLLABLE of his voice I get reminded how much I DE-F$%^ING-TEST what he did to that Mercury song and I want to launch the radio out the window. And whoring his bemulleted mug out on an even more adulterated version in those F150 commercials did not exactly help. "Ahm CRAZY 'baht a Fowwerd treck".

How about Poison's completely ballsless version of "Your Mama Don't Dance"? I admit they put on a good concert but their albums were always helium-filled Heavy McMetal.
