What tv show are you currently binging?

Rewatching the first season of The Serpent Queen. Gearing up for season 2. I know there’s a lot of revisionist history going on in this tragic-comic biography of Catherine de Medici, but my wife and I are all-in.

Hi all

Binging Your Honor on Netflix

A few shows on Motortrend TV. Roadkill Garage, Fantom Works, and Roadworthy Rescues are entertaining.

Watched and enjoyed Mindhunters on Netflix, BUT they cancelled after 2 seasons and that kind of left things hanging.
Executive producer David Fincher‘s busy schedule put the show on hold. Word at the time was there would still be a third season. I still can’t figure out why it wasn’t picked up by someone else.

I don't know why no one else picked it up either, it was a very interesting show. I would love a third season to get some closure
"... David Fincher ... whom served as the series' most frequent director and de facto showrunner , overseeing many of the scriptwriting and production processes ... In January 2020, Netflix announced that the potential for a third season was on indefinite hold as Fincher wanted to pursue other projects, but may "revisit [the series] in the future". In February 2023, Fincher confirmed that the series was officially over." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindhunter_(TV_series)

Sounds like Fincher lost interest in continuing this excellent series.

J.A.G. S1E9-15, S2, S3E1-10 (1996/97) - Prime
Show picked up toward end of S1, improved some over S2 and became even better with S3. Doubt I'll manage all 10 seasons but want to at least find out what happened to LCDR Rabb's MIA (Vietnam) navy pilot father.

I also read that Netflix said the cost of production was high vs viewership. I expect the real reason is somewhere in the middle. It is a shame, the show had a different feel than the usual.

Just got finished with Better Call Saul. Watched it the first time a few years back and just watched it the second time on Netflix. I liked it for a second viewing even though I know the fate of all the characters.

Jimmy(Saul). Kim and Chuck are damaged people that would benefit from a good therapist. Howard is a Nepo Baby in over his head. Gus Fring and the Salamancas are evil. Mike is the dirty deeds done cheap guy you want on your side.

Very good final episode. I like the way they wrapped it up.

I have not seen Breaking Bad and may not. I think it may be a bit too violent for my liking.

Tony Dalton ("Lalo Salamanca") was the best one in the whole show..pure evil with a smile. Breaking Bad starts out SLOW (season one is a dud) but it just gets better with every season after that, the final one being some of the best TV you'll likely see. It has about the same level of violence as Saul, but when Cranston puts on that hat and becomes Heisenberg, Watch Out !! It also shows a good depiction of life in the poor sections of ABQ... I live far away from that part of town and only see it on the news every night.

With Lalo you did not know if his smile was a good thing or a bad thing, but usually bad. I may give Braking Bad a try. I will skip the decapitated head riding on a tortoise episode.

I saw the El Camino movie and thought it was just OK but not great.

We just finished the 4-episode documentary "Stax: Soulsville, USA" on Max. Absolutely great. Uplifting, then sad and full of great music and individual stories. Very highly recommended.

Professor T, the original Belgian series about a wacky Monk, Sherlock, Sheldon Cooper character who is a criminology professor in Antwerp who helps Police solve cases.

This is the first of 4 versions (Belgian 2015, French 2016, German 2017 and English 2021). So far I have watched the first 3 seasons of the British version (a fourth season is scheduled), and am in the middle of the first season of the original Belgian version. So far, both have been excellent, high quality shows and we’ve been enjoying the different interpretations.

British and Belgian versions are on PBS Masterpiece with the German being listed as available on Masterpiece as well, though I haven’t been able to confirm that.

If you enjoy Monk, you should check this out.

Sugar. Three episodes in, and we're still trying to figure out who the heck John Sugar is working for, and what his ailment is. Stylish, noir-ish, fascinating so far...

"The Double" on Netflix. It's a revenge story worthy of Dumas if you're ok with subtitles and can keep track of the characters.

If you haven't taken in, "Those Who Are About To Die" (2024/Prime)...I think you are missing a great TV series.

It is a soap (set in ancient Roman times), but a well done one compared to most. "The arts are supposed to reflect Life", and from what I've read about historical Rome, it's for the most part bang-on!

Lots of action, fast moving plot, roles well carried out, and the special effects are so realistic at times!

The writers have done their homework in bringing this time period the the viewer, with dashes of Hollywood thrown in, but what production hasn't had this done to them.

For me it was a 4.5 outta 5. In some scenes/situations, y'all gotta stretch to accept the outcomes, but for the most part I found entertaining.

However, it is NOT a movie to be watched by ALL the family! Rome (back then) was def not for the faint-of-heart!
