What tv show are you currently binging?

My Life Is Murder - AcornTV

Light hearted, quirky, slightly weird premise with Lucy Lawless play a retired cop who helps with older cases. No partnering, but she has a lot of interaction with a local cop. Lots of local location color scenes.

History Of The World Part II
(2023)

Laid out of it for a few nights, might get back into it tonight. Only two episodes left.

Last night wrapped up the "Wyett Earp and Cowboy War" docu-drama (2024 NETFLEX).

Found it interesting and entertaining.

Didn't know of the ramifications AFTER that "OK Corral" shoot-out and how the post events ended up causing much havoc in Western History.

Wyett did have a dark-side to him, and hadn't been the good guy in his past... but he did stick to his word and his set of values when it came to family.

You may have to dust off the TV after watching each episode. It does get down-right-dirty at times!

I might give this a go.

Bodkins - 7 part show on Netflix (billed as ongoing, with the possibility of another season).
It had me with shot in Ireland, and a storyline involving a mystery around Samhain (sow-en) celebration.
Lots of story flips back and forth, could have been shorter, but it was pleasant ...
Big fun with Will Forte as a Podcaster ...

Took in a Lopez movie, "Atlas"(NETFLEX)-, and it was better than I expected... as many Sci/Fi's fall short-of-the-mark for me.

She does a solid job of being a hard-nosed, independent gal who really knows her AI.

For this movie she really had to earn her pay; emotionwise!

Lots of special effects, and a predictable plot, but did enjoy the the "human-robot connection". Reminded me of "2001".

Starring Xena. Have Acorn and will check it out.

"Joy of Life" two seasons currently available on YouTube. Chinese period drama with liberal doses of action and humor and a wee bit of science fiction back story.

The main character is a young man who grew up in a backwater coastal city and is endowed to an unlikely extent with numerous talents and attributes.

He is summoned to his country's capital and becomes embroiled in all sorts of political intrigue.

I'm really enjoying it and consider it the most entertaining thing I've watched in a long while.

Gangs of London, first few episodes were good but got pretty bad real fast and ended up fast forwarding most of the later episodes of the 1st season. Not sure I will start the 2cd season. Characters are pretty far fetched and the action scenes are way over the top. This is starting to look like a typical over done series where you hope everyone dies soon so you can watch something else that is done better, I dont see myself wasting anymore time on it.

History Of The World Part II (2023)

This last episode was pretty good, esp. the segment Jesus Christ: The Last Supper Sessions, a spoof on the recent BIG documentary film re The Beatles putting together what'd become the Let It Be album, the rooftop concert, etc.

Has anyone heard of the sequel to "1899" (NETFLIX 2022) being offered?

Really got into this German offering that took place pretty much when Covid was going strong. Had read that it took at least seven interpreters to get this quasi Si/Fi series completed. Well known actors were not available and didn't want to take part in the creation of this TV series at the time.

And I found that with the "ending"...it naturally leads into another series.

The plot did move slowly, but the attention to detail on the whole effort was staggering. And when you take in just HOW the entire affair was put together... that in itself if yet another mind-bender finding. That is AFTER you've taken in the entire production.

Just wondering, if and when it might return.

totally enjoyed it. unfortunately, it was cancelled. friends found it overwhelming and confusing...? twilight zone like. a trip. reminiscent of my schematic circuit nightmares.

Wyatt Earp And The Cowboy War (2024)

Five-part (or is it six?) series, watched first two episodes last night. It's a documentary-tinged drama -- or vice versa -- that's one of those deals that connects the dots across a time span. Kinda fun and interesting at once.

I also found this with certain friends. You can't take this series on the "surface" level and have to look beyond the dialogue/situations presented.

Been binging The Dr Blake Mysteries on Britbox and Tubi, and breaking it up with episodes of Only Murders in the Building on Disney Plus. I really like them both :)
