2026 College Basketball

I managed to only catch the last 8 minutes - I know the Sunday games start earlier, but didn't realize just how much earlier.

And at that point the game was pretty much over.

I hope that CBS caches a full game that's available for a little bit on Prime. I know Fox does, but don't think that CBS does.

Duke - UConn next. Could be a great game. UConn has a bad habit of going cold during games and relying on one hot player to keep them in it. If they can put together a more balanced game it will be interesting. I hope so.

The present state of the game is pretty much what I mentioned. There is only one player consistently scoring for UConn, that being Tarris Reed Jr. Duke will make adjustments to neutralize him, and there's no one else on the UConn team putting up points.

Unless some things change dramatically in the second half (and they often do) this is going to be a long game for UConn.

Wow. I had Duke winning it all in my bracket, but I don't care about that.

Congrats to Duke for a great season. Congrats to UConn for figuring it out - I really didn't have much faith in them in the second half, but they managed to continually chip away and make a game of it.

No matter who you pulled for, that was a great game.

Depressing watching that 2nd half meltdown. :wtf: For those of you who's team is still there. Enjoy the rest of the ride :beerchug:

With UConn winning, I jumped up a
few notches. I have U-M beating UConn in the final, but there is another player in the AK bracket game with the Wolverines winning and she is way ahead of me. You know who you are. The one with the Woody Woodpecker avatar!

@75Center (Darcy) actually climbed into second with the Duke and Wolverine wins Sunday and she picked three of the Final Four.
And none of them are Jayhawks.
Rock Chalk!!

No disrespect to UConn or Illini fans but the National Championship game is the Michigan-Arizona matchup.

My Wolverines have managed not to be hurt by their lack of a backup point guard so hopefully that continues. Johnson has had 2 bad games in a row so hopefully he can have a monster game against Arizona.

Go Blue!!

So I guess you won't be wasting your time watching the games then? lol

When I used to make an omniscient statement like that concerning any sporting event, my father used to respond with, "Well I guess they shouldn't even play the game then!"

Many times I'd be eating my words afterwards. lol

How many people thought UConn was going to beat Duke? Especially when they were trailing by 19 points!

Some major March Madness upsets that come to mind are:
  • No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson beats No. 1 Purdue, 2023
  • No. 16 UMBC beats No. 1 Virginia, 2018
  • No. 15 Middle Tennessee beats No. 2 Michigan State, 2016
  • No. 15 Lehigh beats No. 2 Duke, 2012
  • No. 15 Princeton beats No. 2 Arizona, 2023
Basketball can be unpredictable. Stars can get into foul trouble, injuries, etc. The other team can get hot. Start raining threes.

While the big money is on Arizona and Michigan, the games will definitely be worth watching and I wouldn't count any of them out. All of these teams have played games this year where they look invinceable and some where they look beatable.

I'm a Big 10 fan and am rooting for a Michigan - Illinois final.

I like both UConn and Illinois. Didn't have a real preference but one being B1G I was kinda hoping for an all B1G final. That did not come to be. Not sad to see UConn in there, however. Illinois just seemed to lack that edge it takes to win in the Final Four.

I did not expect to see the domination that Michigan showed from the very start of the game with Arizona. I thought it would be a balanced close game, but that was one of the more memorable beat downs I've seen in the Final Four in a long time. The final score does not even come close to reflecting how complete a defeat that was. All that was Michigan without Yaxel Lendeborg for a large part of the game (at least half) - and he's their best player.

I'm looking forward to the final on Monday. UConn figures out how to win games like this, although I think the other UConn teams that won championships a few years ago were better. UConn hasn't had the complete games lately that I think it's going to take to win on Monday. Karaban hasn't been scoring, and Ball did better today, but hasn't been scoring well in most of the games in the tournament. They need a complete team effort with scoring from everyone in order to beat Michigan.

Yeah UConn deserves it that's for sure, although the Illini didn't really show up on defense - especially the 1st half. UConn controlled the boards and out-hustled them. It seemed like UConn wanted it more.

I think Michigan might have a harder time with UConn than they did with Arizona.

Well, so much for The Fightin' Illini ... knocked out by them husy fellers @ Connecticut. Dayum.

Well, NCAA has lost me as a fan. A whole month of hype, and the final four games weren't nationally televised. All about the almighty dollar.

I watched college softball instead.

Wow - Did not see a blowout of Arizona coming. Michigan is playing like they did during that Vegas tournament earlier in the year.

UConn has the talent and confidence to win it all. Michigan will need to play Defense and control the boards against UConn. Michigan’s 5 tournament wins with point totals in the 90’s set a new record but they will need a 6th to cut down the nets on Monday.

GO BLUE!
