2026 College Basketball

What an idiot. I feel sorry for his coach and teammates.
I heard it was for pounds of Marijuana. That crime doesn't exist here any more now that Michigan has recreational as well as medical legalized. Wonder if the drug dealers had to relocate?

I think (not sure) that one report also listed "for sale". That changes things.

I went looking for a 12 seed to upset a 5 this morning.
Seems like there is always one 12 knocking off a 5.
Could not find one I liked, so I skipped the plan.
Then 12 seed High Point (who?) beats 5 seed Wisconsin!!

He could claim he was laying in a big stash for the tournament. "Dudes, it was all for me. I wasn't going to sell it. I swear."

No excuses for the loss. Credit to VCU and possibly goodbye to Hubert Davis.
I watched VCU in a game before the tournament, and they looked really good. Probably a conference tournament game.

I didn't have a lot of faith in NC. They lost their star player to injury and just didn't strike me as a team that was going to go far. I didn't see the game, but just read about the comeback that VCU made.

That's one of the few upsets I picked.

UNC has been over-ranked all year long. Sorry I missed the bracket. Just finished 36 hours of food poisoning. Death by pork sausage.

UVA has a decent path the to the Final Four. Got that 3 seed.

There's a lot of excitement in the Greensboro High Point area about that win. I think they're going to have a tougher time tomorrow, but who knows, it's possible.

A good bit of my Carolina friends and coworkers have been saying that Davis needs to go for a while now. I do have to agree with an online article I read today about the rivalry and the decline of UNC as a powerhouse. It has not been good for the rivalry and has affected the ACC and not to the good. The ACC Conference as a whole has been in enough of a decline as it is.

The Carolina brand has suffered as of late and Hubert doesn't seem to be overly concerned. Of course as bad as I hate to admit it filling the shoes of Dean Smith and Roy Williams is a tall order.

I've watched some high seeds playing like you'd expect high seeds to play. They're complete teams with benches, and are just rolling. I watched most of the Michigan, Duke, Michigan State and Houston games. Very impressive.

Texas is playing beyond what I'd imagined. Gonzaga is being challenged.

Illinois, while it's early, look good. Very good.

The Vanderbilt - Nebraska game was phenomenal!

It was close for the most part of the game, incredibly close. Vanderbilt almost pulled it off with 2.2 seconds to inbound being down two. The shot was just short of half court, and rattled around the rim and kicked out.

That's what this tournament is about.

Adios UVA and KU. Michigan teams still have it.

I poured a glass of red wine last night and mourned UVA's loss to Tennessee Jed. With over 30 wins in Odom's first season, I'm predicting we get a Natty soon. Just not this year, alas.

No joy in Jayhawkville today. :( Head Coach Bill Self just announced he will talk to his family about retiring or staying on at KU. He is well respected and beloved. He's had some cardiac scares - if he needs to retire for his health, I understand. But we will miss him so much if he does.

I can't believe my Husker are still in the dance. They are playing so far over their heads that they can't see their feet. The state has gone nuts over them. Fun to watch, huge hearts, and finally healthy. And now we get to play our neighbor Iowa in the Sweet 16. Amaze, amaze, amaze. (To quote my favorite movie star, 'Rocky' - from Hail Mary.
