Albums That Blew You Away

Strictly talking acoustics and sound quality, the 1st Fresh Aire, Turn of a Friendly Card, The Nightfly, The Wall, Rise, Live at the Hollywood Bowl, and some others were good sources for listening tests and evaluation. Musically, its all fused for me, so many great discs back in the day.

Let`s see IIRC,1967: Jimi Hendrix`s(my first rock concert) first album Are you Experienced, and shortly afterwards Axis Bold as Love, maybe the Doors, and probably Cream too. Can`t be sure about any of the Beatles albums "blowing me away" ?

1968: Led Zeppelin`s first. While riding around with some friends one night, and the driver had just purchased the 8 track and popped it in and I was blown away by the guitar work, vocals, & production.

1969: Zep # 2, Johnny Winter`s first album, then shortly thereafter Second Winter after seeing him in concert, & some Allman Brothers too.

1970 The Who: Who`s Next, JH`s Electric Lady Land, Mahavishnu Orchestra.
There are, of course, other`s as well, but these tend to stand out, & I was turned on to PF`s early albums by my friend`s brother, and of course 1973`s: PF`s DSOTM.

The one good thing about music is great music is a discovery that never ends.

In my younger days is was all about rock mostly progressive rock but some Southern rock as well.

Its a Beautiful Day
Black Sabbath Volume 4 - Can't believe that wasn't already listed.
Jethro Tull Aqualung
Zeppelin all of their albums up to at least Physical Graffiti
Allman Brothers Band Live at Filmore East
Joe Walsh "The Smoker You Drink the Player you Get"
Golden Earing "Moon Tan"
Neil Young "Harvest"
The Who "Quadrophenia"
Pink Floyd "DSOTM" and "Wish you were Here"
Jefferson Airplane and Starship
Fleetwood Mac
Stones

And as I got older Classical music which makes rock music pale in comparison in how many great albums their is.

Actually this could go on forever, and newer artist it just expands into thousands. That is why fortunately I have so many thousands of records and CD's other than the room it takes..
