Cool American military planes.

Man oh man as a teenager I was in love with the A-10....
My buddy called the F-16 his favorite plane but I was fascinated by a plane Built Around A Gun!!!
I had books and posters and just about **** myself when I saw one in real life....
They just eschew..
I dunno...
Bad-ass-ed-ness.

My father before he succumbed to old age lived in an apartment for 15 years; his room number was A-10 and he posted up a book I had as a child about that Fairchild Republic....

Man that thing is just awesome.

To me.

This one falls in the "I can't believe that thing flew" category--the "Goblin". I saw one of these at Wright Patterson Air force Base in Ohio. Unbelievable museum of flight if you have never been there.

The BUFF.
An aircraft that is going to have a service life of nigh on a century when it's all said and done.

First flight of the prototype was in 1952 and the last airframes are scheduled for service into the 2050s.
