Favorite Bourbon

I had a glass, ok 2 glasses of Angel's Envy last night. One of my favorite bourbons, might have to restock on that one. I was at a steakhouse with a buddy of mine last night & I spied a bottle of Van Winkle 12 year "Lot B". I asked the bartender how much, "$100." Yikes! That is for a measured pour, not free poured.
:yikes:

Well the crappy weather continues here in the north east, as beautiful as Saturday was Sunday was just ugly, 50 and raining. On the bright side bourbon season is continuing apace. Had a glass of Larceny over ice on Sunday night. A nice wheat bourbon, not in the same league as Weller, but fairly priced and available.

I ventured from bourbon over to the Scotch side...had a couple drams of The Macallan 18 yr. old Sunday eve. A fellow could get used to that stuff.

Funny. I ventured over to the bourbon side from the scotch side. Both are very new to me. Two years for scotch and two weeks for bourbon. However, I like both sides so far. I have some 12yr Macallan, no 18 yr. I bought some bourbons I read about on this thread.

"Macallan, the Rolls Royce of single malt scotch." So said Michael Jackson a/k/a "The Beer Hunter", author of the book Complete Guide To Single Malt Whiskey. A copy of which is chained to the bar at Keen's steakhouse here in NYC. I spent many a year sampling the various excellent single malts produced in Scotland but I always returned to The Macallan. The 12 year is always on my bar, the 18 & the 25 have just gotten out of sight. That was part of the reason I went back to bourbon after 20 years or so, the prices of Single Malt had sky rocketed. With bourbon you can still buy an excellent bottle of whiskey for <$45, with Single Malts it is more north of $65 and up and up from there.
