Favorite Bourbon

I hear you Swampy! I am out of Angel's Envy, one of my favorites and will need to replenish. I like the flat bottle as it fits along the wall of the liquor cabinet allowing me to have more bottles in rotation.
Congratulations on today being International Talk Like A Pirate Day! AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH :beerchug:

Will do. One of my favorite Single Malts is Glenmorangie Portwood Finish, now known as Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban also finished in port pipes.

Was wondering if anyone on here has tried this and if so what is it comparable to? The guy at the local ABC store showed it too me but at roughly $70 a bottle I better really LOVE it.....

I did dip my toe into the brown liquor this weekend as the temps fell into the upper 50's, just a couple of scotch and sodas. Fistfulls of bourbon are still a few weeks away.

The only experience I have with Corn Liquor is a bottle of Mellow Corn from the Heaven Hill distillery. It was the single oiliest whiskey I have ever had, a rather unique mouthfeel. I have another bottle in the bunker, it is much lighter in color than Wood Hat's example above.

Remember bourbon is a corn whiskey, aged in new charred American oak barrel.

I was referring to "Straight Corn Whiskey" not bourbon, a different legal definition. https://heavenhilldistillery.com/mellow-corn.php

My liquor store has Old Forester 1920 available in a "limited" quantity. Is it comparable to the 1910?

MIC

No, that is a different one. Every year there are 4 releases. They were always the same ones, 1870, 1897, 1910 and 1920. I'll see if I can find the link that explains them all.

That is being redefined by the TTB currently. There may be no more corn whiskey, only bourbon. This is due to the fact that they redefined all barrels as charred, even though there is charred and toasted barrels.

This makes me sad. Will Jack Danels become Bourbon?
