Favorite Bourbon

Just ordered 2 bottles of Whistle Pig Rye Whiskey. One 15yr and one 12 yr. I'll drink these selectively, in other words when I don't have to share. https://whistlepigwhiskey.com/whiskeys/12-year/ https://whistlepigwhiskey.com/whiskeys/15-year/

I grabbed one bottle of the Old World Cask Finish today. Thanks for the tip. Who knows when I'll pull the cork from this bottle.

This is my new favorite. The bottle is about 50 years old from my brother's stash. He isn't allowed to drink so I'm helping him get rid of this. Friday night I watered 1:1. My face got warm, it was strong, it took me an hour and a half to drink it. Saturday night I mixed it 1:2, heavy on the water and it was just great, sipping for 2 hours.

It is Maker's Mark International Bourbon. It is a 1/2 pint, we had pints in those days.

Sadly, it isn't made anymore.

As soon as the anesthesia wears off... tell us what's the proof of that MMI?

I've got a bottle of George T. Stagg stashed away. 144.5 proof. I bought two bottles when this batch came out. Drank one with some friends and went blind. I may specify the remaining bottle be opened at my wake. ;-)

P.S. On-going prayers for your event today.

I found this a few days ago buried behind some
other stuff in a cabinet we rarely use. I know it
has to be over 30 years old. It is darker than the pic shows.
I sent Beam a message with the bar code to see if they could date it.

Still too warm for bourbon/whiskey season to commence. I hold to the old maxim of the frost being on the pumpkin before breaking out the brown liquor. At the rate fall is progressing, that should be right around Columbus Day.
