Favorite Bourbon

Actually I prefer this but at roughly half the price, Jim Beam does me just as well.

don't know that I've seen that in the liquor store but I mainly only shop for bourbon when a local chain has a big sale - seems like twice a year.

Do yourself a favor. Just go find their Double Rye and play with it. It is my current favorite. A little pricey for some, but when compared to the price of a good single malt, it's cheap!!

I had the weirdest dream last night.

Was at a party, mingling, and a guy I knew (who passed away several years back) comes out of the crowd towards me and he's got a bottle in his hand, taking swigs as he's walking. He gets close enough I say, Hey Doug, what you got there? He holds up the bottle and it's Eagle Rare 17. I say mind if I have a pull?, Doug says sure, raises the bottle to me, then it was over.

If he was holding a bottle of Thunderbird, would you still want a sip?

That would probably be the reason if he did.

I've been working on a bottle of Blade and Bow but my favorite is Old Weller green label. Its somewhat hard to find locally but i have a few shops that get it from time to time. My experience with bourbon is relatively new (5-6 years) but i guess my luck at finding killer audio gear also translates to old liquor.

A local yard sale advertised liquor related items so i went to check it out. The guy selling stuff had a garage sompletely full of displays and product demos that would be used by a liquor vendor, which is what his father did. Bottle stands, neon signs, wall decor, clocks, light, glasses, etc. This guy had it all and it was all in original boxes. We got to talking and he asked if i liked dark liquor. I told him yes and he said hold on.... He returned and handed me a bottle in a red pouch as a gift for spending a few hundred bucks. The bottle turned out to be a early 80's bottle of Old Weller!! That was the day i learned about "dusties" and my interest in old liquor really started up

The first bottle of bourbon I picked up at my favorite liquor store was Weller 107

pictured is some of my current bottles as well as reserve. I also have more bottles at the in-laws, in the garage, office, etc. The stuff at the office is the older and rarer bottles that are all sealed from the 40-80s.
