Favorite Bourbon

Found it with some of his friends. These bottles, and many many more, came from the liquor distributor I mentioned earlier. The guy has a whole room filled with sealed cases of booze. I grabbed a few nice examples but have been meaning to go back to search more closely.

There was some real treasure in that house.

Interesting that you also have a bottle of Old Fitzgerald. I also bought a bottle of Old Fitzgerald when I bought the Weller. It's hiding behind it.

The Old Fitzgerald bottle was some sort of holiday edition by Candlelight. The bottling date/tax label is 1955 on that one. I also have some mini Old Fitz and Yellowstone bottles in my collection somewhere.

I would love to try some Old Fitz but can't bring myself to open those older bottles. I just recently found out its still made but runs 3-400 a bottle and i've never seen it on a shelf, even at the high end stores behind the glass.

Here in Michigan the LCC lists it as Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond for $85/750ml.

The version I saw was a bit pricey but i guess it’s because it was an aged bottle I’ll look again this weekend at a few of my spots I can check

For the hard to get bourbons, finding them at MSRP or even a little over either you gotta know somebody, be a really good regular customer, or get lucky.

Yeah, I know the game. The guy that was selling me my Weller green label had his regular supply of Pappy which was pretty much bought up my his loyal customers. I think he said the 23 years was going for 1200 which could easily be sold for double if you decided to do so.

I think his allocations are just small and I’m not always there to shop.

Weekend, 'enough said.
